The Amazing Floating Year Program Location Area

2016 Tourist Attraction Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province 4.500m²

ZhenJiang City is sitting in southern bank of Yangtze River. ZhenJiang is an important transportation hub, owning its location near the intersection of Yangtze River and the Grand Canal. The Site is Located in the Grand Canal which is soon to be renovated, and it offers view from every angle. The 'Old District' will be soon preserved as a 'Historical Touristic Spot', which will attract a lot of people, Therefore, I have chosen the location for Architectural design that I proposed. The main idea behind the design was to generate a building shell that will metaphorically g r a b t h e w a t e r s t re a m f l o w i n g b e n e a t h i t , henceforth, creating a floating space experience for the programs that would be incorporated within the building.

Spider Web as a Structural Concept

Frame Wall/Exterior Wall

a spider naturally uses several branches to hold its web, which in turn bears the weight of the spider and its enemies.

The elevator and the exterior wall transfer all the load forces to the entire structure, thus making the hanging boxes steady.

in order to give a floating experience the web metaphor is used in determining the position of the enclosed exhibition spaces which are place above the groudn floor.

The frame wall is intended to direct the visitor's view towards the beautiful river canal landscape

LaoHu Brg. Community Center Year Program Location Area

: : : :

2014 Community Center LaoHu Bridge, NanJing 1.500m²

The site was located on Laohu Bridge ( 老 虎 桥 ), a site full of traditional markets with narrow streets making it very crowded and traffic intense every single day. T h e d e s i g n w a s a r e s u l t of a d e e p comprehansion on the behavioral pattern of the people within the community. After considering the existing routes taken by the people around, the building's initial concept was formulated. The architecture through it's form and facade hence became a vital adapative component in nurturing the movements of the people in the community

Beersheba - Cities and the Sky Year Program Location Area

2015 Restoration Turin, Italy 900m²

This belief is handed down in Beersheba: that, suspended in the heavens, there exists another Beersheba, where the city's most elevated virtues and sentiments are poised, and that if the terrestrial Beersheba will take the celestial one as its model the two cities will become one. The image propagated by tradition is that of a city of pure gold, with silver locks and diamond gates, a jewel-city, all inset and inlaid, as a maximum of laborious study might produce when applied to materials of the maximum worth. True to this belief, Beersheba's inhabitants honor ever ything that suggests from them the celestial city: they accumulate noble metals and rare stones, they renounce all ephemeral excesses, they develope forms of composite composure. They also believe, these inhabitants, that another Beersheba exists underground, the receptacle of everything base and unworthy that happens to them, and it is their constant care to erase from the visible Beersheba every tie or resemblance to the lower twin. 2016 Urban Design Shanxi Road, Nanjing 230.000m²

Shanxi Road Square is located in Nanjing city. The urban planning of Shanxi Road Square determines the impor tant municipal business center -- Hunan Road business center is the city's important public activity place, rich in historical and cultural background. For a long time, although the region has been renovated for several times, but due to some transformation of individual blocks, and lack of planning, it is very difficult to deliver activity to the area. Many problems have been existing for too long such as; traffic disorder, a lot of hidden historical and cultural spots as well as lack of green, public space. All the above problems are limiting the development of the area to the maximum capacity.

Internship - Urban Design

2015 Urban Design Shangnan Road, Shanghai 655.035m² 2.72

This is one of the project that I participated during my internship period. the project was about redesigning the urban space as a support of the Qiantan CBD which is located about 3.5 km away form the site. I was assigned to design the facade and plan layout of the highlighted master plan under the supervision of my mentor in the company. This helped me understand the scale of which commercial, residential and office volumes containt in large construction area.

These images illustrate the facades of low-rise service apartments that I was assigned. The 3d model was built in Rhino by myself, and rendered by the rendering team in the office.

The random louver pattern was created by the aid of grasshoper. Balconies were introduced to manipulate the building storeys (from 8 to 4). thus reducing the massive feeling of it.
