Huddersfield
Lawrence Batley Theatre drawing and samples
This collection of images is from a university project I completed and based on the Yorkshire town of Huddersfield, its landmarks and history. I wanted to create a series of mostly hand embroidered samples that would form patches to clothing that could be exhibited in the local art gallery. It was important to have the handmade element to each sample because Huddersfield was a town built on textiles. During this project the time spent making each sample was much longer due to each sample having many tiny stitches woven into the fabric.
