Over the past 10 years, the Festival has consistently presented outstanding artistic works from across Asia. We are very proud of its legacy in creating opportunities for a mainstream celebration of Asian culture, and in doing so, touching and educating hundreds of thousands of South Australians. I am honoured to have been Patron of the OzAsia Festival since its inception, 10 years ago. This unique Festival was started to provide opportunities for Australians to come together to celebrate and to appreciate Asia’s arts and culture. Public support for, and participation in, the Festival has been overwhelmingly positive, with more than 230,000 people attending last year’s performances and events.

King of Ghosts is a live film score created by sarod star Soumik Datta, set to the classic 1969 Indian art house film Goopy Gayen Bagha Bayen, by Oscar-winning director Satyajit Ray. Conducted by Johannes Berauer, the live performance weaves together Indian sarod melodies with the rich orchestral textures of Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and the pulsing percussion of Cormac Byrne into a gorgeous, atmospheric experience. The film is projected over the musicians, transporting the audience into a black and white vintage fairytale.

Filled with original music, singing, dancing and many nods to the chaos of contemporary life in modern day India. Twins, Sebastian and Viola are shipwrecked, believing each other to be dead. Viola, disguised as a boy, serves Duke Orsino and is sent to woo Countess Olivia on his behalf. Mistaken identity and chaos ensues. This comic classic explores the pangs of unrequited love with some of the most exquisite Shakespearean poetry. “If music be the food of love, play on.”

Inspired by her mentor, the legendary John Cage, Margaret Leng Tan is the world’s first professional toy piano virtuoso. A major force in the American avant-garde music scene, Tan uses an array of small instruments and found objects including the toy piano, music boxes, two-note paper accordions and even a bicycle bell, to create her unique blend of music theatre. MOON LANTERN FESTIVAL Australiaâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s largest lantern parade event returns along with the giant Hong Kong Dragon! Bring family and friends together to celebrate the traditional Moon Lantern Festival. Wander through Elder Park to look at lantern installations, try the local cuisine, participate in workshop activities and watch the community performances. After sunset, the famous lantern parade will make its way through the park accompanied by a live score from Hong Kongâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s acclaimed musicians SIU2. The evening will finish with spectacular fireworks over the River Torrens.

PUNG CHOLOM | INDIA The Pung Cholom is an explosive, classical Manipuri dance style in which dancers also play the Pung (a form of hand beaten drum) as they perform. An impressive combination of dance, rhythm, grace and acrobatics, skilfully and energetically performed by this renowned Indian ensemble. 7PM

KENTA HAYASHI | JAPAN Japanese singer-songwriter and loop pedal ninja Kenta Hayashi takes the term 'one man band' to a whole new level, creating an orchestra of sound by layering vocals, guitar, effects and percussion. The result is a fusion of psychedelic dubbed out journeys surrounded by soundscapes and an overtone of harmonies on a rhythmic foundation - all created live by Kenta through the use of a loop pedal. 6PM

EGA ROBOT | INDONESIA Ega Robot is known for his fast paced, upbeat drumming style that links to traditional instruments and dancers. Having featured on national television events and toured extensively through Indonesia, Ega Robot is very well known in his home country as one of Indonesia’s most prolific world music performers. 7:30PM

THE RAGHU DIXIT PROJECT | INDIA Often hailed as India’s biggest cultural and musical export, Raghu Dixit’s unique brand of infectious, happy music, transcends age, genre and language. His music is strongly rooted in Indian cultural traditions and is presented with a contemporary, global sound. 8PM

GDJYB | HONG KONG The Hong Kong four-girl band GDJYB is one of the city’s fastest rising bands. By fusing mathrock, folk music and strong social commentary, the band’s changing tempos and dynamic lyrics are renowned for bringing something distinctive and fresh to the Hong Kong indie music scene. 7:45PM

JING WONG | HONG KONG After opening for acts like Belle & Sebastian, Kings of Convenience and Andrew Bird and touring more than 30 cities in China and Japan, Jing Wong is fast-becoming one of Hong Kong’s most in-demand artists. Bear witness to this delicate explosion of intimate rock and poetic lyricism. 6PM

JABIN LAW | HONG KONG Building on his debut album Day and Night (2014), Jabin Law continues to traverse life, philosophy and the meta-universe in his new album The Suns (2016). Influences such as Laura Marling, Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen have shaped his explorations of alternative rock, folk and blues. A lyrical, tender and mesmerising performance. 6:45PM PROUDLY SUPPORTED BY

SIU2 | HONG KONG SIU2 is a renowned six-piece fusion band from Hong Kong. The sheng, a musical instrument that stems from ancient China no less than three millennia ago, leads the ensemble’s process of sound-weaving, resulting in a musical tapestry that flows seamlessly through the East and West, past and present. 9PM

THE STEVE MCQUEENS | SINGAPORE The Steve McQueens have been winning fans around Singapore and Asia with their brand of self-styled neo-vintage soul-funk, playing to glowing praise at festivals like Japan’s iconic Summersonic, Indonesia’s Java Jazz, Singapore’s Singjazz Festival and London’s O2 Indigo. Soulful, sultry, eclectic and eccentric. 7PM

CHARLIE LIM & THE MOTHERSHIP | SINGAPORE Stretched between acoustic melancholia, post-rock, indie-R&B, and electronic-pop, Charlie Lim has brought his unique sound to stages internationally at The Gathering, Clockenflap Festival, Jarasum International Jazz Festival and more; performing alongside the likes of Kimbra, Sigur Ros and Lucy Rose. Enjoy a meticulously sculpted and mesmerising musical experience. 8:15PM

FADE TO BLUE | TAIWAN Fade to Blue pairs two performers of musical traditions from opposite ends of the world: American blues and folk and traditional Chinese music. Pipa player Chung Yufeng and guitarist and singer-songwriter David Chen both relish the joy and challenge of using their respective instruments to complement each other’s music. 6PM EYUSER | INDONESIA Founded in 2003 by a group of young Papuans, Eyuser’s mission is to infuse local Papuan music with modern tones while still preserving its rich, distinguishable sounds. The relaxing pacific sounds from Papua conjure images of balmy nights, the smell of fresh air and the ocean. 6PM
