Assembly Bradford relocates to stunning new premises at 20 North Parade

Assembly Bradford, a prototype coworking space launched in 2016 as a place to “make things and meet people” has expanded and relocated to an inspirational listed building upon North Parade.

Offering flexible desk hire for freelancers, homeworkers and microbusiness within a grand vaulted commercial chamber built in 1907, Assembly’s growing membership now has access to a super-fast dedicated fibre broadband line, affordable colour laser printing, a snug, members’ lounge and kitchen-dining room.

A stone’s throw from some of Bradford’s best bars, the development, run by local businessmen Haigh Simpson and David Craig, will be based in the former Liverpool and Victoria chambers. As well as coworking, Assembly’s relocation has enabled the team to offer three serviced offices and “The Assembly Hall” can be transformed into an event space for up to 60 people during evenings and weekends.

Director David Craig said “We are really excited about expanding our offer: our new space, with high ceilings, bags of natural light and better facilities will give us more capacity, more flexibility and most importantly, the opportunity to provide space for our members to grow with us. We are delighted that our long-term pop-up has

become permanent, and are really looking forward to watching our members flourish with us”

Attracting small businesses and individuals with a wide range of skills, from researchers, fundraisers and copywriters, to photographers, 3D visualisers and designers, members are currently traveling from the likes of York, Skipton, Leeds and Hebden Bridge to come and work in Bradford.

The project is being supported by a start-up loan from the BEF-Fund and supported by Bradford Council’s Growth Zone Funding. The grant was offered to encourage projects that provide varied and day time uses within the city centre.

Director Haigh Simpson said “The space is fantastic and are delighted that we have already attracted several new members. We do however have plenty more capacity and invite anyone interested in working from our space to book a free trail day”
