Sustainable and Engaging Tea Set

2017 Fall Industrial Design III Course 8 weeks

A new look for the traditional tea glass Tea is an important value in Turkish culture. Traditionally the tea is served in a specific type of glass that has a slim waisted contour. Tombik has a sustainable and engaging approach. It has a modern yet humorous appearance.

Final Design

The curved contour of the traditional tea glass has been emphasized by reducing it into one section which resembles a neck. The rest of the tea glass features straight lines in contrast to the curved section, strengthening the form. The sugar bowl and saucer has the same features as the tea glass, making them a family.

The sugar bowl stays tilted to make it easy to serve the sugar. It can be tilted to four sides.


BUBBLE

Interactive Floor for TUDelft IDE Faculty

An interactive floor that will visually communicate with the users to assist them It will work as a live information network maintained by the elements of the faculty, navigate users and present projects.

An interface that would follow the user constantly to allow more active usage of the information. A circular interface as it is directionless and all parts of the interface will be the same distance from the user

The info bubbles later deformed into a rectangular shape to easily adapt to texts.

Scenario

Tapping the heel opens the menu. Upon arrival the bubble joins the user.

The user gets info bubbles from certain spots about events and activities

Users can adjust their bubble’s colour.

Users can order coffee without getting in line.

Navigation feature has a pointer that shows the direction. Users can order food and get a notification when the food is ready.

Project exhibitions send info bubbles to users. They can add the project owner to their social list.

Students can activate the social feature. Their bubbles will stick if they have similar interests.

Supporting a wide range of user needs, habits and preferances The target user group of the refrigerator that is flexible in its operation is large Turkish families where cooking and food preparation are frequent.


Ideation Exploring the concept of flexibility: Flexibility is the ability to adapt to different situations. A flexible refrigerator is responsive to needs, wants and expectations and easy to use.

Movable surface can adapt to different situations. The surface can be placed under the shelf to put bulky items below. Crisper

The crisper can be organized with flexible dividers. The divider is pulled and placed to the desired groove. User can create four different sections. Freezer Compartments

To have a harmonious and continuous form in the exterior the handle parts are connected with a blue groove. The handle can be reached by everybody.

The easy access boxes are the first compartments when opened. The handle is pulled to access storage box. Storage box stays at the back for long term stocking.


Slidable

Slideable can be adjusted according to item sizes. Shelfs can be shortened to place long items or extended to place short items. Tilted

GAEA

City Bus of the Future 2018 Fall Industrial Design V Course 6 weeks Team Members: Koray Canlar Eren Dönertaş Selen Naz Sarıtaş Onur Barış Zafer

An autonomous mobile urban architecture that cannot be defined simply as a bus of the future. Gaea serves in a green future, in which ecological concerns are at the centre of society. It benefits from being part of the future city’s visual integrity by being dressed in vegetation and parametric units, which harmonizes its place in the future of transportation. As an ecological statement, Gaea is co-powered by its passengers via an energy-converting bicycle.

Pedestrian safety

Parametric units rotate to be lighted up during bad weather conditions to increase visiblity. Parametric entrance The bus informs people with graded light. As the bus gets closer to pedesterian crossing, the light gets intense. Aeroponic Farm Certain plants could be grown to refresh the air inside the bus. Plants could be sold by the municipalities to increase revenue after being harvested.

Impact-resistant Tea Glass Packaging

2017 Spring Industrial Design II Course 6 weeks


A package from corrugated cardboard sheets for set of six tea glasses It will prevent the glasses form breaking in case of a fall from a certain height. The other concerns were using the cardboard efficiently, not using any adhesive substance and packing/unpacking the items easily.

Final Design

The windows on the side keeps the bottom part in position. The brims do not touch the cartoon creating a suspension in case of a fall.

From a 100x70cm cardboard sheet, 4 packages are produced. Several package trials have been made and dropped from 1 meter.

The invard bending cartoons tightly keeps the glasses in position, contributing to the structure of the package.

Voice Visualzier for Group Members

2018 Fall Colour in Product Design Course 4 weeks


Giving feedback simultaneously to teach some basic communication skills. The user group is teenagers. The product will help in adjusting the voice and relative emotions. It will regulate the speaking turns. Also, by showing the time it will teach them to adjust the length of their speech.

The product can be used with maximum five people. Each person has its own colour

When the gray part is touched the surrounding yellow light lights up to indicate that the device is on.

When the person starts to speak, yellow ring works as a timer

As time goes on the yellow gets tinted and eventually white

Cutlery Set for Restaurants

A cutlery set for both restaurant usage

Gocce creates an elegant dinning experience for the user.

Gocce consists of fork, spoon, knife and napkin ring. They feature soft and sharp lines together harmoniously.

Working on modeling


The twisted part goes all along the handle and becomes integrated with the eating part.

One side of the napkin ring has filleted soft edge and the other side has sharp edge. Gocce can be used comfortably as its weight is equally distributed.
