New Orleans to Memphis with Branson

15 day cruise/tour - November 26, 2022 with Jeff Lawson & George Dyer

historic Nottoway plantation in Louisiana

A Mississippi paddle boat cruise is exciting, fun, and relaxing. You will love old New Orleans, the air boat ride through the swamps, the many old plantation homes, the Civil War sites, and most of all; you will love experiencing what it was like a 100 years ago sailing the Mississippi River on a replica of a luxury paddle boat. Our educator Jeff Lawson will be there to enhance your experience by bringing the history of the area to life. We have combined the American Queen Paddle Steamboat package with 1 additional night in New Orleans before the cruise and 1 night in Memphis, and 4 nights in Branson after the cruise. Our tour in New Orleans will include the World War II Museum, the Mardi Gras World (where they are in the middle of building next year’s floats), and Bourbon Street. Our tour in Memphis will include the Civil Rights Museum and the home of Elvis Presley’s Graceland. Our time in Branson includes 11 fantastic Christmas Shows. George Dyer, in addition to being a wonderful performer in Branson, also works with Fun For Less Tours as a Tour Manager on many of our tours and cruises. George will be joining you on the buses several times during your time in Branson. This is the best time of year as Christmas is everywhere and you are out of the heat of summer. You do not want to be touring or sailing the Mississippi in the heat of 90 plus degrees and 90 to 100% humidity. We have picked the perfect time of year - the end of November has the best temperatures in the South. At the time of our sailing, the average temperature is 70 degrees in New Orleans, and the vast majority of our stops, the average temperatures range from 65 to 70. There are fewer crowds, along with perfect touring and walking temperatures. Another reason this is the perfect time of year is because New Orleans lights up for Christmas on Thanksgiving weekend. We will see the pageantry and beauty of Christmas in New Orleans and other cities as we travel the Mississippi without the cold temperatures of Christmas – ending in the show capital of the world, Branson.
