WHAT IS THE EAGLES CLUB? On behalf of all our student-athletes and coaches, I want to extend our tremendous appreciation to all those who have helped make our numerous successes possible. 201516 has been another memorable year here on “The Nest”; five more championships and three additional NCAA Tournament appearances to date - including Men’s Basketball’s historical victory in the NCAA Tourney First Four and great showing vs. UNC; Women’s Soccer earning our first ever NCAA victory before a great match to eventual NCAA runner-up Duke; Both soccers and Women’s Basketball’s capturing ASUN 6-peats, with a stirring WNIT championship game run; Women’s Swimming & Diving achieving their 7th CCSA crown in 8 years, as well as a program record three individual qualifiers for the NCAA Championships, and Men’s Tennis repeating as ASUN champs; we won the A-Sun Combined and Women’s All Sport Trophies for the third time in four years; continued great Alico Arena crowds and more victories over BCS programs in a number of sports; Whitney Knight (15th WNBA overall) and Rodrigo Saravia (19th MLS overall), plus Aaron Guillen (MLS FC Dallas debut) and, of course, the pride of watching phenomenal ambassador Chris Sale continue to dominate and Brooke Youngquist Sweat pursue her Olympics Beach Volleyball spot; another terrific cumulative grade point average (3.32), our seventh FGCU Hall of Famer (Elizabeth Means of Women’s Tennis), five Eagles having already earned ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year accolades (Elizabeth, Steph Haas-WBB, Andres Alfonso-MTN, Myka Yong-WGO, Austin Schultz-MGO) and two such national recognition (Steph and Marc-Eddy Norelia-MBB), as well as countless community service hours by our Eagle athletes and staff. We are certainly proud of our achievements on and off the various playing venues. Moving ahead, the continued key to our future accomplishments will be our abilities to generate much needed additional external resources for our Capital Campaign and annual budgets. Hence, we must continue to grow our Eagles Club membership, amongst other avenues (i.e., ticket sales, corporate sponsorships, etc.). Therefore, if you are not already involved, please seriously consider joining our company. For those previously on board, we would love to have you remain a member of our club or join at 110%! With an awesome beginning to our FGCU story, our best years lie just ahead! Your continued support and generosity greatly enhances our path to future successes, and we are very thankful for all those who have been with us as loyal season ticket holders and Eagles Club Members. In turn, we feel very fortunate to know so many of you personally and to be able to call you our friends. We look forward to sharing many more Green & Blue victory celebrations with our great Eagles Club folks in the years ahead. In the meantime, thanks for all that you do for FGCU Athletics! God Bless & Go Eagles!

gle, DEAR EAGLES CLUB, When I signed my Division I letter of intent during my senior year of high school, it was a dream come true. It was a feeling of accomplishment and pride after countless hours of hard work.
Once an Eagle, Always an Eagle! CHRIS SALE ‘10 “The relationship that I had with our fans at FGCU was one of my favorite things about going to the ballpark. The generosity and camaraderie that was displayed every game was truly remarkable. I will always be proud to be an Eagle!” Chicago White Sox Pitcher MLB All-Star (2012 - 2013 - 2014 - 2015) 2010 National Collegiate Baseball Player of the Year
BROOKE (YOUNGQUIST) SWEAT ‘08 “Being a student-athlete at FGCU was a great experience. The professors were understanding and wanted you to excel on the court as well as in the classroom and our coaches made it clear that academics come first. We were surrounded with unbelievable support from the community. It was such a special feeling winning on our home court in front of all our fans! I will always be proud to be an EAGLE!” AVP (2012 - Present) Member of USA Beach Volleyball National Team
WHITNEY KNIGHT ‘16 “Our fans are some of the best in the nation when it comes to women’s basketball. Having their support during my time at FGCU is truly one of the things I will remember most. Being able to interact with them after every game is an extremely unique opportunity, and one that a lot of student-athletes never get to experience.” 2016 WNBA Draft Pick (15th Overall) Two Time ASUN Player of the Year
Now, I am honored to be both an alumna of FGCU and the Women’s Basketball team. I attended on a full athletic scholarship thanks to generous donors like you. I started playing sports at a very young age, but basketball stole my heart in second grade. I love the feeling of being a part of something bigger than yourself, and playing on a sports team gives you just that. Basketball has truly changed my life and has shaped me into the strong, independent woman I am today. In basketball, along with other sports, there are many attributes and skills you need to acquire as an individual in order to be successful as a team. Under the leadership of Coach Smesko, my knowledge of how to be successful both on and off the court was stretched beyond my imagination. During my time here, I was able to be a part of so many historic accomplishments. In my freshman year, we broke the record for number of threes made in a single game, at 22. In my junior year we won our program’s first ever NCAA tournament game, defeating Oklahoma State. Lastly, in my senior year, the team went the furthest in post-season tournament play in program history, making it to the championship game in the Women’s National Invitational Tournament. Those accomplishments just brush the surface of the tremendous teams I had the honor of being a part of throughout my career here at FGCU. Your contributions to the Eagles Club help teamwork and life lessons flourish for all FGCU student-athletes. You’re giving us experiences that will last a lifetime. I know I speak for other Eagles when I say thank you for your gift. You truly make a difference for all past, present and future Eagles. Thank you,
Jaime Gluesing ‘16 Women’s Basketball Career Record Holder in Games Played
