The snow it came in droves today And slippered all around.

Like pedal-cakes upon the shelf It lay upon the ground


The soft-shoed hero of Grover Lane Jumped, splash, into a lake

And soaked his running, jumping shoes With droplets from the wake.


High-held hands of happiness love, Dripping now with white

Give rise to wondrous pleasures And days of sheer delight.


A piece of cake to sooth his calm, Milk to sooth his mother.

He commands his mighty armies weight, And meekly asks, “Another?�


Mars he sees throughout the knight, The sun he sees by day.

The days they’ll drag so painfully fast, Until he’ll sea his way.
