FIA REGION I SPRING MEETING 5-6 MAY 2015
The African Council for Touring and Automobile Clubs discussed creating a business plan to identify the priority areas for the future. Additionally, Clubs presented the work that has been done in the areas of insurance, tourism and roadside assistance that have happened thanks to the Learnership programme over the past few years.
Mozambique presented their road safety campaign concerning work with a theatre troupe. The meeting ended with a motivational talk to inspire the growth of African Clubs. Following the meeting, a group continued plans to develop the business plan.
ACTAC The Arab Council of Touring and Automobile Clubs held a successful General Assembly that featured an open and frank discussion on the future of the Sub-Region.

COFO

At the Coordination Forum for Eastern and Central European Countries the Clubs discussed their activities and projects. Albania’s ACA introduced their road safety programme where kids learn about road safety in order to instruct their parents. Also AMZS, UAMK, AMSM and BIHAMK presented Club activities and road safety projects. The Clubs also noted that bicycles are gaining popularity in their respective countries. Concerning the new activities for COFO, the topic for the thematic workshop has been selected; it will be driver training. The workshop will be held at the AMZS driver training centre, which AMZS presented to the group. It is a location where Slovenian citizens can be certain to receive high quality driver training. The COFO Study Trip will be confirmed following a survey of Clubs.
NOCOF The Nordic Clubs’ Coordination Forum had a tour de table where FDM, M, FIB, NAF, KNA and AL presented their activities and developments. Discussions were focussed on membership developments, defining relevance for members, disruptive innovations, investments in innovation and business. NOCOF Chairman Pasi Nieminen (AL) introduced the NOCOF strategy plan, and Thomas Møller Thomsen (FDM) presented the programme of the Eurocouncil meeting. Jacob Bangsgaard spoke on the key issues from the Region I side, and explained how the programme for this year’s Spring Meeting has been created in order to discuss future mobility challenges that Clubs will face in the coming years.

International Historical Commission
FIA REGION I SPRING MEETING 5-6 MAY 2015
The International Historical Commission discussed recent developments in Brussels legislation, especially REACH and its impact on classic vehicles, the re-registration of vehicles and challenges linked to the expansion of Low Emissions Zones in cities. They further talked about the need to ensure the training of skilled workers to restore vehicles. The group is seeking to get the recognition of historic vehicles as part of the UNESCO Intangible cultural heritage. Tunis hosted popular Grand Prix up to 2009. The NACT also arranged a red carpet exhibition of 40 classic vehicles as a special treat for the delegates.
ACTAC Management Workshop At the ACTAC Management Workshop, Clubs learned about leadership through an interactive workshop. It aimed to enhance business leadership skills through case studies and role playing. The skills developed included, clarifying the role of leader, communicating with a team, giving constructive feedback, managing organisational politics and building relationships to achieve professional and personal goals.
The Management Council The Management Council of Region I reviewed the final accounts of the Region for 2015 and received a report of the Region I events. The strategy plan and a project for a Region I vision 2020 for was presented. The amendments to membership fees for Region I were also discussed.

The five Vice-Presidents and the President of Region I held an update on the developments in the Sub-Regions and discussed the Region I amendment to membership fees for Region I, the strategy plan and ACTAC’s consideration of becoming an independent Region.
The Eurocouncil The Eurocouncil approved the Declaration ‘The Path to Automated Motoring’ for 2015. The Declaration encourages the EU Institutions to support the swift and safe deployment of automated motoring by putting in place the appropriate framework conditions to reap the full benefits in terms of safety, efficiency and comfort. ADAC presented a follow-up of their reform process. An overview of the offices’ activities and strategy plan were presented. The four Region I campaigns, namely Connected Cars, Mileage Fraud Awareness, Mobility 2014 and Think Bikes, were highlighted and it was announced that 37 Clubs have adopted these campaigns. This is a clear indication that these campaigns are useful for Clubs and the Region I office encourages its Clubs to adopt the already existing campaigns or contribute ideas for new ones.

The Welcome Cocktail The Welcome Cocktail was hosted on the elegant terrace of the Hotel Residence. FIA Region I President Thierry Willemarck welcomed the delegates to Tunisia and extended his thanks to President Chadly Zouiten and the staff from the National Automobile Club de Tunisie for hosting the Spring Meeting. He stressed the themes of the coming days and encouraged delegates to think of the future role for mobility Clubs.
FIA President Jean Todt also welcomed the delegates and noted the importance of Club activities to support better road safety. NACT President Chadly Zouiten thanked the FIA and FIA Region I for coming to Tunisia and invited them back again.
