Fiber Brite® is a Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) that comes with a ten-year warranty. FRP is the only plastic to pass a series of laboratory and field tests to meet government plastic sign panel requirements for traffic and street sign usage. Fiber Brite®plastic is more compatible with plastic reflective sheeting than aluminum, which has to be treated with an alodine coating to help adhere to the sheeting. Fiber Brite® signs last longer, roads stay safer and signs are replaced less frequently.

Fiber Brite® is available in different sizes and thicknesses to be used under every condition and for practically any task. Fiber Brite® replaces up to 1” thick wood and aluminum laminates at a lower cost. The panel may be used in place of labor-intensive MDO without painting, priming or sealing. It’s a great substitute for 0.30 - 0.100 gauge aluminum and 3mm - 1Omm PVC without the outdoor performance failures. lt’s the substrate of choice around water, chemicals and electricity or where outdoor durability is important.

SUPERIOR OUTDOOR LIFE Fiber Brite® is made with a polyester thermosetting resin that hardens and becomes irreversibly set when cured. This procedure allows the material to resist fading, denting, creasing, shattering, warping, rusting and delaminating. The added strength provided by the post in this system will greatly reduce the amount of sign replacements and eliminate the costs of sign mounting caps and cross pieces. New specifications for street signs have increased the length and wind load on the signs making it imperative to increase the holding power of the sign to the post. 2012 regulations NEW REQUIREMENTS FOR MAINTAINING TRAFFIC SIGN RETROREFLECTIVITY On December 21, 2007, The Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) issued Final Regulations governing the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways (MUTCD); Maintaining Traffic Sign Retroreflectivity. This Final Rule is far reaching in effect and applies to most regulatory, warning, street name, and both ground-mounted and overhead guide signs - whether permanent, temporary or portable - on all public roads and private property where the public is invited to travel.

This rule is a result of a Congressional directive in Section 406 of the Department of Transportation and related Agencies Appropriations Act, 1993 (Public Law 102-388; Oct. 6, 1992). That act directed the Secretary of Transportation to revise the MUTCD to include a standard for minimum levels of retroreflectivity that must be maintained for traffic signs and pavement markings. This rule applies only to traffic signs. The FHWA is expected to promulgate a rule for pavement markings at a later date.

NEW federal rules impact private property As a property owner or manager, you need to understand the implications and risks associated with this law, and what to do to keep your customers safe while traveling on your property. If the public travels on property that you own or manage, your traffic signs, pavement markings, and other traffic control devices are now required to conform to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). Effective January 16, 2007, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) amended the United States Code (U.S.C.) to clarify the applicability of the MUTCD to ANY road open to public travel. That includes privately owned property where the public travels. Examples are shopping centers, office and apartment complexes, and even recreation facilities.

NEW federal rules on break-away sign supports are required The MUTCD, which is the national standard used for all roads open to public travel, states that roadside sign supports in the clear zone shall be breakaway, yielding, or shielded. This requirement applies to roads, whether publicly owned or privately owned. Although State highway Agencies are generally in compliance already the FHWA is concerned that many local agencies may not be aware of this requirement.

Government Agencies qualify for Net 30 automatically by providing a Purchase Order number. • 50% Deposit: All Custom work and Non-Standard signs require a 50% deposit or credit card number unless customer has a previously established account with us.

SHIPPING

• F.O.B. Origin: All items are F.O.B. Origin unless noted in AFT literature or quoted in writing. • Method: AFT will ship UPS Ground whenever possible. We can ship UPS Red or Blue upon customer request and expense. Heavy and oversize shipments will be sent by motor freight. We will attempt to notify the customer of oversize items either through the catalog or by Customer Service. • Receiving/Inspection: Upon delivery, check merchandise for quantity and carrier damage. Notify AFT immediately of any problems. Any damages or shortages must be noted on carrier delivery receipt. Pictures must be taken and AFT’s shipment inspection should be filled out. Contact your sales representative for the shipment inspection form. If there is damage found after delivery contact the carrier and request an inspection report. Claims for damaged goods must be filed with the carrier. AFT is not responsible for such claims. Claims for lost items will be resolved by scale tickets printed at the AFT dock site. If the printed tickets show that the proper weight of items left the AFT docks, then a claim must be filed with the carrier. If the tickets show that the proper weight of items did not leave the AFT docks then the claim will be filed with AFT.

RETURN GOODS

• Restocking Fee: 15% on all stock items. Non-stock items are not returnable. • Return Order Number: All returns must have a Return Order Number to be accepted at the receiving dock. Please call for this number before returning goods to AFT. On any orders returned due to an AFT error, we will mail you a call tag or arrange for a pickup at our expense. On any orders returned due to a customer error, the customer will be responsible for the freight and arranging a pickup. Return order numbers will expire 30 days after issuance, so do not delay in returning products to AFT. After the 30th day no credits will be issued on return order numbers. All materials must be returned to AFT in the same manner you received it. (Properly slip sheeted and packed) • Credits: Credits will be issued after we have received, verified quantity, and inspected the material for damage.

NON-STOCK ORDERS

• Orders for non-stock items must be submitted in writing to eliminate potential errors.

CANCELLATION

• There is no charge for canceling the order before the artwork is started or raw materials have been ordered. There is a $50.00 AFT charge if a Custom Graphics order or Non-Standard Traffic Sign order must be cancelled once the artwork has been started. An order can not be cancelled once production has begun or raw materials have been ordered.

LEAD TIMES/EXPEDITE FEES

• We can give you a current average lead time based on historical information at the time you place an order; however, this is an estimate and not a guarantee. AFT will only guarantee lead times on orders which include an expedite fee. Lead times are expressed in weeks or days to ship from our dock. Expedite Fees vary depending on current workload, complexity of the job, etc. and will be entered as a separate item on the order.
