OUR VISION Welcome to IBSB, a school that starts with the child and works for the child’s best. In the Nursery (age 3) and Reception (age 4) years the children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum of England. We believe that every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfill their potential. All children are born with the ability to develop if they are given the chance during childhood. Every child develops and learns in different ways and at different rates and every child is provided here with the opportunity to experience the world around them. The more a child experiences, the more they will understand. All children’s learning in the Early Years setting occurs through play. Play is the means through which children find stimulation, well-being, happiness. It is the means through which children grow physically, intellectually and emotionally. Play is the most important thing for children to do and the most relevant way of offering learning, both indoors and outdoors. Our learning environment is well suited to meeting children’s needs for all types of play, building upon firsthand experiences as much as possible. Our new Early Years Centre has been created by a talented team of experts in education, psychology and design, to meet all the needs of children aged 3 and 4.

INDOOR SPACES WE CONSIDER THE INDIVIDUAL NEEDS, INTERESTS AND STAGE OF DEVELOPMENT OF EACH CHILD The school day in EYFS is both challenging and fun, with hands-on activities, and a holistic approach to learning used to connect what happens in the classroom to the world in which we live.
FRIENDLY AND COLOURFUL
OUTDOOR SPACES TIME SPENT OUTSIDE IS AS IMPORTANT AS THE ONE SPENT IN THE CLASSROOM. The EYFS programme is a free flow programme, enabling students to have the option to enjoy both the indoors and outdoors, with a number of areas set up with different learning focuses for the students to choose from.
