Jarrell ISD held its very first school supply drive this year and—thanks to the generosity of local businesses and organizations—it was a smashing success. A total of $13,467 was donated and Laura Buckley, JISD Director of State and Federal Programs, quickly got to work ordering all the school supplies she could find. She says, “After spending more than $6,000 at Amazon I headed to Walmart to buy everything else I could afford to offer as much as possible to our students. I purchased so much there was barely enough room left in my car for me.”
As a result of the kindness of so many in our community, more than 500 families in the Jarrell Independent School District were blessed and prepared to tackle the first day of school.
