Gene’s Auto Repair Rolls into New Location

Seeing a shift in the auto industry after working at several motor companies drove Gene Edmondson to open his own auto repair shop. “Everything was becoming so money-driven. Car repair has become so costly and is getting more expensive every day. I think some people take it to an extreme—to the point that the average person can’t afford to fix his or her car.”

Gene says, when he opened Gene’s Auto Repair & Service Center in 2018, “We wanted to make sure money was never more important than people. We aim to provide good service for your money and make it affordable.”

Gene’s Auto is a one-stop-shop for all your car needs, whether it’s mechanical repairs, AC servicing, brake replacements, or routine maintenance. “We do everything but bodywork and tires,” Gene says.

A Georgetown resident since 2000, Gene wanted to set up shop close to home. Gene's Auto quickly out- town, and in February, moved to a larger site on Williams Drive. He is pleased that being located next to Sun City has opened a whole new customer base for the shop and his growth trend is continuing.

IT’S PERSONAL

Since day one, Gene’s goal has been to create a business that honors his team’s Christian values and community focus. “I got all the guys together and said, ‘Look, I don’t want anything to have happened between Monday and Friday that, if you see them out in the community on Saturday or Sunday, you can’t walk up and ask them how their day is going. Basically, don’t do anything you’re not going to feel good about.’ ” He adds, “I’ve got an amazing group of guys. I don’t have to worry about them gouging or writing up anything that doesn’t need to be done to try to build up profit.
