KABOOM! A NEW LEAF

Volunteers came together over three days in Mesa to build a brandnew playground for the youth at A New Leaf After School program to have a safe place to play and have fun. In addition to the playground, volunteers renovated the garden space, added sidewalk games and painted a large colorful mural for the children to enjoy.

ANDREA MORENO, MANAGER OF COMMUNITY STEWARDSHIP AT SRP

“What A New Leaf does here really aligns with SRP’s commitment to support our community, especially vulnerable populations. That’s really at the core of SRP’s culture and in the hearts of our employees. We know it’s the same at Fiesta Bowl and at A New Leaf.” MICHAEL HUGHES, CEO, A NEW LEAF

“This project has had an incredible impact for kids at our East Valley After School Program! Kids that struggle with behavioral health challenges can build social and coping skills to help them be more successful in school, at home and in the community. The new playground is not only a fun play space that promotes mental health through physical activity, but also a tool for practicing positive peer interactions. Kids in the program have been more inclusive with their peers while playing on the playground. We cannot thank Fiesta Bowl Charities enough for the funding, time and hard work that made this playground possible!”

KABOOM! CAMP VERDE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

More than 100 volunteers traveled to Camp Verde Elementary School to build a new play space for students. The playground features two slides, a climbing wall and an exciting track ride for older kids. This new space will provide an exceptional outdoor space for social interaction and daily exercise for the students while in school.

JACLYN CAMPBELL, PRINCIPAL OF CAMP VERDE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

“We are thrilled about the new playground at our school. Our students will enjoy new, more diverse ways to play, including obstacle course-style fun! We are so thankful and have enjoyed every bit of the playground building process! Thank you Fiesta Bowl Charities and SRP! Our students now have a playground they will enjoy for many years to come!”
