DANCE COLLECTION

“I’m not interested in how people move, but in what makes them move.” Pina Bausch, dancer, choreographer, and pioneering director of contemporary dance.

With this famous quote from dancer Pina Bausch, we introduce Dance, the new collection of fabrics and sewing patterns by Katia Fabrics. Just like in dance, we are excited to think that in sewing, it’s not so much about what is done, but why it is done.

Feel the movement and let yourself be carried away! Dance by Katia Fabrics is a dance of printed fabrics and ideas for creative sewing.

Sewing, dancing... ultimately, creating is a way to express ourselves without words. We explore what drives us to sew and enjoy every step, every stitch. It is on that creative path that we feel “the soul dances and the body heals.”

A VIYELLA article, made of 100% cotton, with a thickness of only 145 g/m2, making it suitable for making all kinds of garments.

Sewing Recommendations

Universal sewing needle / size: 80/12 - 90/14. Steam or wash the fabric before cutting out and sewing. Wash and dry the printed fabrics with the garments inside out.

Circular knit fabric, slightly brushed on its outer side to achieve a fabric with an exceptional, soft feel. As an added value of the product, it should be highlighted that the product has been awarded the GLOBAL RECYCLED STANDARD certification, which guarantees it is a recycled product.

JEANS RECYCLED CANVAS is a twill type fabric made from post-consumer jeans, meaning discarded textile products (in this case jeans) that can no longer be used for the purpose for which they were intended. We reutilize this fibre and blend it with other organic fibres to create the yarn with which JEANS RECYCLED CANVAS is made. As a result, we obtain a new fabric made from discarded clothing. For each metre of JEANS RECYCLED CANVAS we recycle one pair of jeans. The new JEANS RECYCLED CANVAS is a sustainable fabric, certified as 72% GRS (Global Recycled Standard) and ideal for making decorative items like cushions, tablecloths, home accessories as well as bags and backpacks.
