ICE FISHING TALES

The ice fishing season is just about done, although it seems like the ice isn't going anywhere for awhile yet. For those who enjoy angling on hardwater, it was a great and memorable winter. Ice fishing derbies and festivals were back in full force this season after a few years of not being able to take place. Events at Lac Du Bonnet, Selkirk, Gimli, Falcon Lake, Grand Beach, and Lockport were well attended and lots of fun. It was absolutely fantastic to see so many Filipino-Canadians on the ice competing and even winning big prizes!

Be sure to snag a copy of the next issue of the Filipino Journal where I will walk through the new Manitoba Angling Regulations that went into effect on April 1st.
