RICH PICKINGS Moses replied, “Don’t be afraid; God has only come to test you and make you keep on obeying him, so that you will not sin.” (EXODUS:20:20) 1

Happy are those who reject the advice of evil people, who do not follow the example of sinners or join those who have no use for God. 2Instead, they find joy in obeying the Law of the LORD, and they study it day and night. 3 They are like trees that grow beside a stream, that bear fruit at the right time, and whose leaves do not dry up. They succeed in everything they do.(Psalms 1:1-3) 22

You will take your idols plated with silver and your idols covered with gold, and will throw the away like filth, shouting,”Out of my sight!” 23 Whenever you plan your crops, the LORD will send rain to make them grow and will give you a rich harvest, and your livestock will have plenty of pasture. (Isaiah 30:22-23) 11

Then Sarah stood by the window, raised her arms in prayer, and said, God of mercy, worthy of our praise, may your name always be honored, may all your creation praise you forever. 12 Lord, I look to you for help. 13 Speak the word and set me free from this life. (Tobit 3:11-13) 12

Happy are those who remain faithful under trails, because when they succeed in passing such a test, they will receive as their reward the life which God has promised to those who love him. 13 If we are tempted by such trials, we must not say, “This temptation comes from God.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one. 14 But we are tempted when we are drawn away and trapped by our own evil desire. 15 Then our evil desires conceive and give birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
