_PHYSICAL CONNECTIONS Network organized in two levels: structural level and potential level. Development of structural level through algorithm: given a points cloud and a threshold value (maximum connections lenght), points at a distance shorter than the threshold are connected with straight segments. Threshold values are searched for which it is obtained: complete points connection; minimum redundancy; maximum redundancy.

PARKING OPEN-AIR HOTELS

PARKING OPEN-AIR HOTELS

z = 0

z = 0

In addition to the basic nodes system a second system is considered, in which two auxiliary nodes provide a better management of redundancy, shortening connections lenghts.

The network scheme considered as basic design diagram is the one represented by the structural network level of physical connections. UNDERGROUND ST. z = -15

The potential level, connected to the emerging of activities, is expressed through the generation of additional meshes in the network, causing an increased redundancy, positive property for the general safety.

__ (A)

The two principal network branches are taken as trajectories along which generate the surfaces that envelop space. Control-sections are defined in which it is possible to directly translate the architectural programme.

Control-sections are defined by interpolation curves of set of points. The number of points is the same for each set, each point has an index. Curves generated interpolating points with the same index are the guide trajectories for the generation of the surface (A). A more detailed gradient is parametrically achieved generating a number of intermediate sections that mediate the transformation (B). The wrapping surface is generated lofting through these sections (C).

[A] PARAMETRIC MODEL

70 12 13 11

Subdivision of the surface in a subsystem of components that, through continuous geometric variations, manage the variation of light flow. This lamellar component, through a rotation of the transversal section on the longitudinal axis, allows the surface to move from complete opacity to a permeability that could be modulated in connection to the rotation angle. The rotation of the components is referenced to the inclination of solar rays (03). A min and max values are considered: each lamella is related to a specific angle in the interval.
