LOCATION

In the American Southeast, nearly 600 unique plant and animal species depend on the longleaf pine ecosystem, which stretches from Virginia down to Texas. These include the red-cockaded woodpecker, the gopher tortoise, and the indigo snake, which come together to create a landscape teeming with life. A massive conservation e ort is underway to bring back this forest's ecosystem which now only covers 3% of its natural range.
