In these testing times, I have found it necessary to change things to start showing great films to the public, having all filmmakers and professionals mixing together makes for an ideal, fun and professional environment. As a responsible festival group, your safety is our main concern we have introduced systems and distancing were possible, we offer masks to attendees in our cinema environment, we offer hand sanitize for your comfort, For the filmmaker this helps them engage with professionals which then allows them to make new contacts and the possibility to do business with each other in the future.

Million Loves in Me

Million Loves in Me is thrilled to receive 5 nominations in the annual WICA 2021 and in Broadstairs International Film Festival 2021. It is a film about love. Through the message of love between a not-so-ordinary relationship between a mother and daughter, it emanates into other important messages in life. Inspired by a true story and a headline case in Hong Kong, MILLION LOVES IN ME begins when the abnormal appearances and behavior of Katy, the 45-year-old daughter, and her mother arouse the attention of their neighborhood reporter. He begins to investigate into their private lives only to discover more than a hundred dogs and cats are being hoarded their 700 square foot apartment. Katy is eventually being charged with cruelty to animals. Love is a major element and message being conveyed in the film. First of all, the love between the mother and daughter is inseparable. Katy and her mother both suffer from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). The poor woman only has the intellect of a young child and is indeed unable to live an independent life as a normal person. Likewise, the mother is unable to cope with her compulsion to control and is unable to detach herself from her daughter. Furthermore, there is a major love story line in the film between Katy and a guy Anthony. Katy, with her gullible character, easily falls for the guy’s warmth and care when she is offered support in taking care of the pets and a push to get away from the absolute authoritative supervision of her mother. That’s something the producers believe lots of audience can be empathetic and something they can relate to.

What happens when two people, who are looking for two different things, meet? Living in a hectic world we can easily lose sight of the fact that we yearn for connection. Does the longing for these connections make us take more risks? At what cost? I’m fascinated with watching people and how they move through a space. It was my intent to keep the feeling of the film deeply intimate, to make the viewer feel like a fly on the wall. It is amazing to me at how unaware or oblivious people are to what is happening around them. In the end, we all have feelings of good and evil... what keeps us in one lane or the other. The reality is that we live in a world where some of our most personal moments are “Shared” with “Friends”. We are much more captivated by flashing notifications on our mobile phones than what we are actually living. SYNOPSIS: A lonely widow yearning for connection, meets a collector of art at a speed dating event. What they are looking for in each other is vastly different.

Love in Italy is a fictional story inspired by a family that I got the chance to meet while I was in Tuscany, Italy. The characters’ fight for true love, and reunification after a long separation, inspired me to write “Love in Italy” The family convinced me, yes, true love exists. In our generation in the year 2021, it’s so hard to see or encounter true love anymore.

“Love in Italy” characters Denise and Marco are two different and very opposite characters. Marco is the most dangerous Mafia’s Son in Italy, whereas Denise is a college girl from the USA who came to Italy only for a vacation. The two fell in love on the first side and started seeing each other against all the odds. Marco is an engaged man with another Mafia’s daughter Isabella. The two families, Marco’s and Isabella’s families, already made all the deals and properties division agreements according to this arranged marriage. Then Marco gives up on this marriage to be with Denise, put everybody in danger, including Marco himself and Denise. They walk up to the death together and promise to die together no matter what. Marco chooses love over an arranged marriage, not only deciphers the hidden secrets his family hid from him for so long but also has changed everything for the rest of his life.

This is not a success story. But it's a story of hope. It's a story about resuming life. Everyone lives by repeating failures and regrets. Some people cannot recover from the mistakes of the past. But life can be resumed from any situation. Our only option is to live without giving up in any situation. Losing something does not mean the end. It just changes the starting point for the next. A small hope beyond despair. That is the "reality" that Kyoji Kamui thinks. In the movie, they never give up the courage to move on. While losing something important. They start walking. This is a realistic and hopeful story.

The song ‘La fine del mondo’, on which this video is based, was written during the confinement period due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a liberating scream that summarizes with irony and sarcasm the elements that characterize the decline of modern societies and, more generally, the degradation of the world in which we live. The video describes the day of a person who experiences solitary confinement in an alienating way, passing from one frustration to another to indicate the failure of the globalized and consumerist society and the loss of freedom. The clumsy and vain attempts of the protagonist to keep balance on the gym ball, symbolizing the fragile balance between man and nature, seem to be of no avail. The End of the World EMPIRE is a feature film following the misadventures of two men shipwrecked in the vast Pacific Trash Vortex. Observers of this film can perhaps see many tangents from a diverse array of influences— Charlie Chaplin, the Old Testament, Mel Brooks, Spaghetti Westerns, Lord of The Flies, Kurt Vonnegut, Edgar Allen Poe, Hunter S. Thompson--and it all seems reminiscent of a 50’s sci-fi flick. Somehow it all spilled into the script for this B-movie fever dream of a film, as trippy as anything you’ve seen at the midnight matinee. Actors Nick Leininger and Don Schroeder are superb in depicting their descent into madness while the green screen so artfully embellished by Editor Nick Schultz serves as something like a Greek chorus for the film, vitally engaged with the action and the subtext beneath the narrative. The Great Suppression We’re pleased to present THE GREAT SUPPRESSION feature documentary film, via the Madrid International Film Festival. This film reveals a “peak behind the curtain” to some of the most controversial stories to arise during the American Covid-19 lockdown. These events reached national US headlines and featured the catastrophic impact that the Pennsylvania Governor and Health Secretary’s decisions, in response to the COVID pandemic, had on people’s lives and livelihoods.

This story of loss, grief, financial ruin, fear, death, and the unquenchable human fight for justice, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness in the human spirit, is one that has played-out beyond Pennsylvania across the United States; even in cities of countries around the world. Consequently, while THE GREAT SUPPRESSION takes place in Pennsylvania, in many ways, this is the universal story of one of the darkest times of our collective history. They got close to the actresses Ai & Maiko who acted in their movie. However, both of them fell in love with Ai and a love triangle.Then, Ai became pregnant when dating Tatsuya. Her father was furious about it and didn’t admit their marriage. Furthermore, Isamu supported Tatsuya & Ai firmly. On that day Ai delivered a baby, it occurred a huge earthquake. She was so beautiful that her extreme beauty attracted the attention of whole class. The classroom was staring to buzz at her. Hinako Kitami was depressed to see a boy whom she liked Hiroki Kurata was so excited to see Ema. He was amorously infatuated with Ema without thinking of Hinako even if everyone knew that they had the hats for each other. It seemed like Hiroki and Ema are just one step from falling in love. One day, Hinako was going to a shrine with her friends Yuko and Ritsu when she came across with Hiroki and Ema walking happily with their arm-in-arm. She noticed that Ema had a detestable smile on her. She went straight to buy a VR game which can show up real people in virtual world. Hoping to satisfy herself by killing her in the virtual world, she bought the VR game. But there was a problem that to bring people to the virtual world, one should input AI details of the person into the game.

The Cinema eVerité LLC project “Dale Johnson’s Twisted Tales of Inhuman Nature” is an incredible series of socially conscious yet entertaining short films. They are twisted, dark, powerful, meaningful, intensely creative, and shine a light on the human nature “sins” that plague our personal and group relationships within society. Imagined as a blend of the Twilight Zone and Black Mirror, each mini bite-sized five to twelve-minute Tale offers insights into a contemporary human issue affecting our ethical and moral behaviors and often society as a whole. The “Twisted Tales” have been accepted, nominated, or awarded at: Newark, Nashville, Milan, Nice, Madrid, Indie X, London Golden Nugget, Antwerp, DUMBO, South Europe, and East Europe International Film Festivals. More Tales are in development in 2020, including one twisted bite-sized tale on immigration and another on the misshapen events from the year 2019. The Series is looking for collaborators, representation, and distribution. Cinema eVerité also produced a feature length film written and directed by critically acclaimed OffOff Broadway veteran Dale Johnson which is a unique tour-de-force psychological thriller that delves into the feminine psyche and societal sexuality standards.

Alessandra is telling this story by intercalating the landscapes and beauties as they are today with the historical material and the reconstructions developed from the description of all the documents and finds available of that period; fades that take us back in the past of a sad and impactful story but told in human and poetic way. The miracle of sinners is a work with a cinematic look and every detail is very accurate, from the photography to the costumes and from the set design to the music, with a dynamic rhythm. This format has been structured to educate and share this story to an international audience.

The Miracle of Sinners

The miracle of sinners is a 52 min docufiction written and directed by Alessandra Usai and produced by Nicola Mennuni, Massimo Casula and Alessandra Usai. The documentary focuses on the miraculous intervention of the offenders, those sentenced to forced labor in the largest agricultural penal colony in Italy, and one of the largest in Europe, active in the territory of Castiadas (southeast cost of Sardinia) from 1875 to 1956 to reclaim an area of 6500 hectares, uninhabited for 350 years, unhealthy, swampy and malarial. The director, Alessandra Usai, in describing and showing the events of this exceptional work, brings to light the profound social aspect of a prison’s system based on re-education, redemption and reintegration into society of all those people who were guilty towards society itself.

The production was led by Nical Films with Zena Film, Hypatia Pictures and in association with Luce Cinecittà. All the shootings were taken in the splendid original location located in the southeast of Sardinia. Alessandra, born in Cagliari, has spent almost all her life away from her homeland, between Milan and Dublin (Ireland) and this was her first project carried out in her homeland where she opened at the end of 2019 the new production company Nical Films based in Cagliari, which joined the Irish company Hypatia Pictures.

By giving the offenders a job, it was possible to give them a future; they learned a job, produced and earned money for themselves and their families. Once they had served their sentence it was easier to reintegrate them into society, knowing a job and having accumulated some money earned with dignity. Another aspect the director wants to focus from that prison’s system, based on the work of prisoners, is given by the economic autonomy of the penal colony which, therefore, no longer had to be in charge of the State. This work takes us back to revive a socially useful system with the important goal of reintegrating prisoners into the society, while today, current data tells us that almost all prisoners are lazing around their cells.

I wanted to convey the honest and austere lives of people living in the town of Ketaka, in Tottori Prefecture, so I wrote this narrative about a single mother and her high school daughter, living near Hamamura Station. It’s a tale of the love shared between an adolescent girl and her mother, who watches over her. It’s a coming-ofage story depicting the transition of a girl growing into womanhood: rebelling against her mother, longing to wear makeup like her, and worrying about her mother’s health. The village folk care for this modest mother and daughter, treating them as if they were their own family. Their gentle warmth heals the teen’s heart, and grows to be a young woman full of kindness and compassion for her mother. Recently, the number of single mothers and their children in Japan has been increasing, in both urban and rural areas. There is no end of news about domestic violence and abuse. I wanted to depict a parent and child striving to live an earnest family life. In recent years, the family structure in Japan has become increasingly composed of single mothers and their children, both in the city and in the countryside. ABOUT THE FILM When Writer/Executive Producer, Willie Davis, Jr. penned the finishing touches of A G-Thang, he reached out to Director Christopher B. Derrick, then to a team of producers/multihyphenates (Hilliard Guess, Ronald T. Covington, Brian A. Roberts, Mildred Marie Langford, Kimberly Allen, and the late Bufort McClerkins) to birth his vision. After the film was shot it continued to be shaped in post-production throughout the uncertainties of the pandemic. What originally was intended to solely be an episode of an anthology series titled Ticker, presented as a compelling universal story through the medium of a short film. A G-Thang is loosely based on Willie’s life growing up in Los Angeles. He recalls how gang life destroyed families and cut dreams short. It didn’t matter what side of the tracks you lived on, gang life engulfs your whole being. Like a cult, once in a gang, your reality is distorted and corrupted. The world you live in is now filled with violence, fear, distrust and dreams shattered. The outside world questions how one can let this happen, but those questions are formulated under the shelter of suburban realities, education and financial stability. Zumrut is based on a true story, and it is about my family, especially my mother and her mother. The story unfolds with a sad separation of my mom and my grandmother due to life danger matters. She had to leave my mom when she was a little baby to a hospital in Ruse, Bulgaria. My mother was secretly given to a BulgarianTurkish family by a hospital nurse. No adoption record has been kept, no legal docs to find out what has happened. Only words of the people who were the witnesses of the happenings helped us out for our research. We have learned that my grandmother came back to Bulgaria to search for my mother. We have learned she is from Greece. However, one can easily imagine how hard it was to find out the realities since many people were involved in this and tried to hide everything from us. They scared us. They threatened us. Against all the odds, whatever we found through our researches, I started writing them all down. As I kept writing, I realized that writing the Zumrut screenplay made me get closer to my grandmother. I want to make Zumrut a movie. This movie will be our message to my grandmother. I know if she can watch the film, she will recognize the story and immediately contact us. So Zumrut is not just a film project for me. It is a life-changing adventure that will guide me to find my mother’s side biological grandmother.

“ON STAGE” shows a flamboyantly costumed musician and an actor live of LIANG Long.
