Financière de l’Echiquier: a great company to work for! Financière de l’Echiquier is the only asset management company to figure in the 2014 ranking by the Great Place to Work® institute, which as its name suggests, identifies companies that are "great to work for". In the general ranking of this national survey, Financière de l'Echiquier comes in 18th position across all sectors in the category of companies with less than 500 employees. Paris, 19 March 2014 – The independent institute Great Place to Work® yesterday rewarded the 60 winners in its "2014 Best Workplaces France" ranking. Every year, this survey aims to identify the best companies in terms of the quality of working life in 45 countries around the world, across all business sectors. Financière de l’Echiquier, an independent asset management company, came in 18th position in the category for companies with less than 500 employees. It is the only financial asset management company to be included in the ranking. "This distinction is very important to us" highlighted Didier le Menestrel, Chairman. "Not only because it is a reason for both management and all of our staff to be proud, but also because our sector of activity - finance - suffers from a bad reputation in humane terms". In this context, Financière de l’Echiquier stands out for a human resources management modelled on practices in its asset management business: "guided by a patrimonial and participative vision as a source of long-term performance". The survey undertaken by the Great place to Work® institute also singled out three characteristics that are among the most representative of Financière de l'Echiquier's corporate culture: - Sharing. Financière de l’Echiquier enables its staff members to participate in a joint project thanks to its shareholding structure. Indeed 49% of the capital is owned by the group's employees, all of which are destined to become shareholders as of two years of presence in the company. As such, every year they share in the company's value added. This is a huge source of motivation, which favours the implication of everyone and the aligning of interest with clients. - Commitment. Committed to its business and its community, Financière de l’Echiquier also spreads the notion of sharing beyond the company: the Fondation Financière de l’Echiquier supports the development of integration projects via the workplace, training and education. Employees can also become involved in this united vocation thanks to a novel scheme to share working hours. This is a highly federating project, which has so far enabled the company's employees to offer 800 hours of work to social economy and solidarity organisations. - Passion. Financière de l’Echiquier encourages its staff members to enthusiastically develop the company themselves. Training and internal promotion as well as an opening to the world enabled by the company's "mobile offices" programme, are all opportunities for each employee to take new initiatives. This is an essential factor in internal cohesion, which involves a joint passion for the business of investing.
