Apple has agreed to acquire mobile and network security firm AuthenTec for $356 million, Reuters reports. Apple hasoffered$8 per share, a 58% premium over AuthenTec's Thursday close price of $5.07. AuthenTec's line of products includes smart fingerprint sensors for PCs, smartphones and other products as well as identity management software for individuals and businesses. The company's clients include HP, LG, Cisco, Motorola, Nokia and others. One client that stands out, though, is Samsung, which isusing AuthenTec's QuickSec VPN security in Android smartphones and tablets.
