elcome to the most northern business school in Finland and congratulations! You have now gotten a spot to study here at Oulu Business School. Now it is your time to enjoy Finland with us! Our organization Finanssi will make sure it is easy for you to attend all of our events and help with your daily life in Oulu. I AM THE CHAIRMAN of the board in Finanssi, one of the biggest guilds at the
University of Oulu and currently we have over 1550 members. Finanssi is a part of OYY, the Student Union of the University of Oulu and we organize a whole lot of events and parties. We also take care of your rights as a student. We represent the colour of purple and you might see a lot of our students wearing purple overalls during the first weeks of your semester. Finanssi also provides you the chance to get the true business school student overalls so make sure you join as a support member (exchange students) or as a true member (degree students). YOUR EXCHANGE WILL START with numerous informative lectures and there will be a lot of new things. This is why I encourage you to visit our website and social media channels to get familiar with Finanssi and OBS. In this guide you will find more information about us and some important dates to mark on your calendar. We will see at the very first event once the semester begins! Our guild room waits with sofas, coffee and great company! Prepare to have an awesome time here in Oulu and if you see us board members walking down the hallway you can always have chat with us! armly welcome to Oulu Business School and to the Suomen Ekonomit community! Suomen Ekonomit is The Finnish Business School Graduates. Our key mission is to promote the career interests of all business school graduates living in Finland – to help you maximize your success. THE MEMBERSHIP is limited to business school graduates and degree students studying for a B.Sc. or M.Sc. (Econ. Bus. Adm.) in Finnish universities! Through joining Finanssi, you will also join Suomen Ekonomit. Graduates membership costs a couple hundred euros per year but for students it is free. Our member services are tailored to your needs and designed to offer genuine benefits; we will be your coach as you consider your future, your career choices, job offers and pay, or if you are planning to set up a business. The Association of Oulu Business School students

inanssi represents the students studying in the Oulu Business School while providing a wide range of services to all of its members – both for business and leisure. By interacting with Oulu Business School management, Finanssi works to guarantee that the students get a high quality education. Finanssi is one of fourteen student organisations under Suomen Ekonomit, the Organization of Finnish Business School Graduates. By joining Finanssi, students can become a part of the nationwide organization and gain access to the services it provides. FINANSSI ALSO HAS its own NESU (Nordic Economics Students’ Union) committee that links us with other business school not only in Finland but also in other Nordic countries and Estonia. As you can see, Finanssi interacts with various actors and partners, including the management of Oulu Business School, the Organization of Finnish Business School Graduates, student associations in other business schools and also with the actors in the surrounding business environment. Therefore the networking possibilities are limitless. FOUNDED IN 1991, Finanssi has been an essential part of the life of Oulu Business School students and one of the most visible actor in the University of Oulu. So keep your eyes open for Finanssi members in the purple overalls – good company guaranteed!!

FINANSSI’S GUILD ROOM AND WHERE TO FIND IT
inanssi’s Guild room, or as Finns call it ’’kiltis’’, is a living room and a hangout place for all the Finanssi members. You can find it in the Oulu Business School corridoor (Kauppakatu). Walk to the halfway of the corridoor until you reach a glass door with Finanssi’s logo on it. Behind the door go stairs down, turn to the right and you are there. By following Finanssi’s logos you won’t get lost. IN THE GUILD ROOM you can read magazines, play PlayStation and get to know other OBS students. There is also coffee and tea available every day for Finanssi members, for free of course. If you like to drink a lot of coffee and tea it is recommendable to bring your own mug to the guild room. There are shelves where you can keep it, just remember to wash it once in a while.
NOTICE THAT IN FINLAND it’s polite to take your shoes off before you enter there, so the guild room will stay tidy. Hope to see you all there during the semester! Best regards, Sanna Rantasuomela Social affairs
