An office accomodates all administrative tasks, whilst a cafe and shop provide a respite for cyclist on the loop, whilst a skatepark offers young cyclists and skateboarders a chance to let loose off the streets.
Structures communicate across two urban grids, with the pitched library acting as a central node.
South Skatepark Elevation
The lightweight canopy shields cyclists and skateboarders from the elements, without disrupting the surrounding terraces.

Treatment Tanks The treatment tanks operate as the circulatory system not only for the site, but for the surrounding homes of 18,00 peple. Pumping and cleaning sewage across the concrete walls, they are home to millions of tiny creatures with dozens of plants species. Based on current advanced systems for compact treatment, they are a barometer for the ammount of excrement being produced in Stockport as well as the type of pathogens

Research: Essays Skate Infrastructure This essay proposes that street skateboarding is reactionary both to the physical modernist landscape and the patterns of consumption we see in the city. The lack of prescription of the smooth concrete surfaces and euclidean furniture were catalysts for the Street skateboarding movement that emerged in the 1990s (Borden 2001) The material catalyst is mirrored by a shift in prescriptions of spaces, and the enforcement of said prescriptions. Often skateboarders are imposed upon by officials because they themselves are opposing norms. This is because they occupy space without engaging in consumption or production (Chiu 2009). The skateboarder is excited by the diversity of the urban realm, its systems and networks are beneficial to them. They find a sense of liberation, however, in taking control of places that are programed otherwise and ultimately look to explore methods of interpretive flexability.

Delirious Rotterdam The Industrialising city is a dense and chaotic integration of the man and the machine. In much of Western Europe, the 20th century saw a dialectic emerge and growing industrial processes were driven away from our day to day lives, out of sight and out of mind. Delirious Rotterdam explores the notion of liveability in the industrial city, examining relationships between ourselves and the machines that support us.

Photography: Geometry + Wilderness
A photographic essay. The detailed inspection of natural phenomena has given rise to complex and enthralling structures. Our understanding of these phenomena is ever increasing, but our fascination is unbounded.
