SPIRIT OF THE FUTURE

50 years of co-creating a positive future for people and planet The Findhorn Foundation is a spiritual community, an ecovillage, and a centre for holistic learning with an international reputation as a unique laboratory for change. We offer a broad range of workshops, events, and a variety of ways to participate, with the aim of inspiring and demonstrating new ways of living for a peaceful and sustainable world.

Celebrating 50 Years of Community For the past 50 years the Findhorn community has worked in co-creation with the intelligence of nature to awaken the highest in human potential. All who engage here, residents and visitors, find an environment to foster profound personal change, seed new ideas and birth practical projects to meet the worldwide challenges and opportunities of our times. Experiencing life at Findhorn is the perfect way to learn about wholeness, integrity, purpose, leadership, love, beauty, cocreation, communication, joy and service. We work in partnership with the United Nations, Global Ecovillage Network, our local Moray Council, universities and healthcare providers, and we welcome you to take part in the great work and experiment that is Findhorn.

FINDHORN FOUNDATION’S CONTRIBUTION TO UN DECADE OF EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT The overall goal of the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD) is to integrate the principles, values, and practices of sustainable development into all aspects of learning. Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) engages with such key issues as human rights, poverty reduction, sustainable livelihoods, climate change, gender equality, corporate social responsibility and protection of indigenous cultures in an integral way. ESD is shaping the purpose and content of all education for our times and is education for the present and the future! ESD programmes at the Findhorn Foundation - Ecovillage Design Education (in its 7th year) and Ecovillage Training (in its 14th year) have been official contributors to the main learning goals of the UN DESD since its launch in 2005. Our programmes provide an ideal learning environment where the social, ecological, economic and worldviews aspects of sustainability meet in an integrated whole. The Findhorn Foundation is an NGO Associated with the Department of Public Information of the United Nations and is regularly represented in UN briefing sessions.

MINIMISING OUR ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT Our eco footprint is one of the lowest ever measured in the industrialised world and is half the UK national average. We continue to find new ways to further reduce our footprint, and we invite you to participate by considering whether you would like to receive this brochure by email instead of by post. We will let you know when our newest brochure is available online by sending you an email. You can then view the entire brochure as a pdf, but print only what you need, saving paper and the environment. Email us at lesspaper@findhorn.org if you would like this option.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PRICES Our prices are income related. When you book, please choose the low, medium or higher price listed for your workshop or event, based on your personal income. For the past three years we have been able to keep prices the same, but this year have needed to increase the low price by 5% and the higher price by 10%, with the medium price remaining the same. More details, and information about bursaries, are on pages 48 and 49.

SPIRIT OF THE FUTURE

CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF COMMUNITY Past, present, future In our 50th birthday year we look back at our achievements with pride and we also look towards the future with a sense of expectation for the journey yet to unfold. New projects to build, new ideas to share and a new consciousness continuing to emerge in this co-creative journey of personal and global transformation. In 1962 Eileen and Peter Caddy, their children, and Dorothy Maclean came to Findhorn for what they thought would

4

be a short time to regroup and discover what was next on their path of service and inner transformation. At that time they could not imagine the fertile seed they were planting for a spiritual community of hundreds, and a worldwide supporter network of thousands. Little by little, through their total dedication to following a path of spiritual service, their vision unfolded to become this international community, learning centre and ecovillage.

The Findhorn Foundation community is a beacon of hope for the future of humanity and the planet. Our 50 years of experience and success provide a solid basis for continuing to develop new models for living in harmony with spirit and with nature. More than four thousand people each year come to participate here, more than ever before, and thousands more join in online.

As we mark this threshold and look forward to the next 50 years and beyond, we are even more inspired to keep living the simple truths of the founders: to practise inner listening, co-creation with nature, and take inspired action - all with an attitude of service, love and joy - and to share what we learn with the world. Spirit of the Future is the theme for this 50th birthday year and is our way of sharing with you this special year of celebration - offering inspiration, expressing our gratitude, and inviting you to participate in the work of the Findhorn Foundation that is yet to come.

Building the new Especially in these past few years of worldwide instability and challenge, it is heartening see that more people, from many diverse situations, are looking towards the Findhorn Foundation and community to provide new directions. The need for what the Foundation has pioneered over the past 50 years continues to increase. We are responding by initiating new ways to engage with more people, and by expanding our facilities to meet the demand. With our Building Bridges initiative, begun in 2010, we welcome local groups of people to explore sustainability, offer A Great Day Out for groups and schools, have begun longer-term programmes with people who are socially excluded, provide field study opportunities for colleges and universities, and have successfully launched events for entrepreneurial movers and shakers from around the world. All of this is alongside our full programme of workshops and events which continues to attract more people than ever. Last year we successfully fundraised for a new, fully accessible workshop and meeting space that ensures we can welcome people of all capabilities. We now have plans to improve the Universal Hall and Community Centre, and further down the line to build more guest accommodation and develop the entrance area of The Park, including a new visitor and sustainability learning centre. All of these facilities will support the next phase of the Foundation’s work. We celebrate having reduced our costs and carbon footprint by installing a biomass heating system for a large

section of The Park, and look forward to providing similar at Cluny Hill. This year we launched Findhorn Live, with live video streaming of our Caroline Myss event to 22 countries around the world, sharing the inspiration and excitement of this event in the Universal Hall. We want to continue to develop Findhorn Live by streaming more events in 2012. To help us accomplish these plans for future growth and transformation we invite you to participate in the Spirit of the Future by supporting the work of the Findhorn Foundation in our 50th birthday year. Please see www. findhorn.org/support or page 46 of this brochure for information on how to help.

Essential Findhorn

Essential Findhorn Programmes Experience Week and all the other Essential Findhorn programmes are unique to Findhorn. While you are here you are part of a learning community, having a chance to do things differently and put your insights and deeper values into everyday action. You can connect with your own inspiration, with the people around you, and with the intelligence of nature, to find new facilities and skills for a more meaningful, holistic and sustainable life. When you participate in Cluny Kitchen, Park Garden, Cluny Homecare or any of our other departments, all tasks, from cooking the lunch, planting seeds or cleaning the floor, are valued and essential parts of the whole. There is the potential for learning to take place 24 hours a day and with every person and situation you meet, as well as within the traditional setting of workshops and events.

VISITING FINDHORN If you can stay for a week or more, an Experience Week is the best way to connect with Findhorn, providing a complete experience of what is on offer here. Or there is a wide choice of workshops and events to choose from, starting on page 21. If you can stay for only a few days, you can participate as a Short Term Guest for between one and six days. You will have the opportunity to participate in a service department and share meals, meditate in sanctuaries and engage in community activities. Please see page 48 for more details. Accommodation When you attend one of our workshops or events you’ll be accommodated either at our Cluny

Founding principles The founding principles of Findhorn are very much alive and practised today. Inner listening and attunement are integral parts of our daily life and there is time set aside before, during and after the working day to attune. We have four meditation sanctuaries in The Park and one at Cluny Hill, and there are many other ways to connect with your own inner wisdom, including dancing, playing, singing, walking and being in nature. The gardens at The Park and Cluny Hill reflect our delight in co-creating with nature, and they are nourishing and beautiful environments. At Cullerne Gardens we grow organic, seasonal food for our kitchens. The beautiful unspoiled coastal landscape of the Moray Firth provides further inspiration for discovering a closer relationship with the natural world.

Hill site, a former Victorian spa hotel, or at The Park in one of the original bungalows, or in an eco chalet. Please see page 47 for more details. If you are not participating in a residential programme there are a number of Bed and Breakfasts in The Park and in the nearby village, go to www.findhorn.org/bandb. There are also camping, caravans and eco chalet rentals available in the Findhorn Bay Holiday Park, www. findhornbayholidaypark.com. Meals Mealtimes are an opportunity to connect socially with other guests and Findhorn residents. Most of the food prepared in our kitchens is vegetarian, organic and local. What we are unable to grow ourselves is sourced as much as possible from ethical or other organic producers.

Inspired action is a commitment to open and honest interactions, working together, growing organic food, building eco-houses, running businesses, erecting wind turbines, recycling, meditating, exploring alternative economic systems, and interacting with our visitors. The Findhorn ecovillage is a built environment in harmony with people and our planet. We interact with the tools we use, with the landscape, with each other, and with our own inner wisdom in a conscious and attuned way, knowing that our small actions are interconnected and are important for the future of humanity and our planet. Essential Findhorn begins with Experience Week and continues on a journey of self-discovery and inspired action. Elements of these unique Essential Findhorn programmes can also be found in all our other workshops and events.

The Blue Angel Café in the Universal Hall in The Park offers a range of freshly made organic food and is open every day 10am - 5pm. The Phoenix Shop at The Park provides a wide variety of organic foods plus interesting gifts and books. Daily Rhythm 6:30 - 7:30am

EXPERIENCE WEEK

Changing the world from the inside out For Experience Week dates please see Calendar in Brief on pages 26 - 29

These are seven days that can change your life and your world. Experience Week is the best way to come to Findhorn and find out what it’s like. It’s the ideal way to meet, engage with and share in this ever-evolving journey of deeply sustainable community living. You join in most aspects of daily life here including participating four mornings in one of our service departments - the garden, kitchen, dining room, homecare or maintenance - giving you many opportunities to practise ‘love in action’ and to interact with other people in the community. The week also includes meditation, sacred dance, a nature outing and being part of a supportive group, all combined with laughter, love and new ways of being. Experience Week is an invitation to let go of your limitations, open to love, and to be the change you want to see in the world. It gives you a chance to experience the principles on which the community is based: inner listening, a connection with all life, and inspired living. We ask that you come willing to participate fully in this rich and active week, to give of yourself and engage with others. Our aim is to create an environment that enables you to find a deeper sense of meaning and to open to transformation within yourself and the group. All of these elements are also part of the Special Experience Weeks we offer.

The programme runs from Saturday to Friday evening, and includes seven nights accommodation and all meals, from the first Saturday lunchtime through breakfast on the Saturday morning of your departure. You should arrive before noon on the first day of your Experience Week, so that the group can begin together. You need to speak and understand English reasonably well - if you cannot, we offer Experience Weeks in other languages during the summer months. Please see page 10. Experience Week runs at both sites of the Findhorn Foundation, at The Park and Cluny Hill. There are opportunities to experience both sites during the week. Please join us for an adventure in new ways of living and relating, and creating a positive future for humanity and our planet. Income related price: £425 / £495 / £655 Bursaries and Concessions are available, see page 47 - 48. If you book an Experience Week with a starting date in December, January or February and also book an Exploring Community Life or Spiritual Practice directly following your Experience Week, we will give you a reduction of £100 on the total combined price. ‘I have learnt to follow my intuition more. A defining week in my life for sure!’

Exploring Community Life

For Exploring Community Life dates please see Calendar in Brief on pages 26 - 29

Exploring Community Life (ECL) is a great way to broaden your understanding of the community or to give you time and space to integrate your experience of Findhorn after participating in another workshop. You may also find this to be an attractive option for coming back to visit and reconnect with the community. There is less emphasis on a group experience than in an Experience Week, and you are more integrated into the life and daily rhythms of the community. The group size is generally smaller and the programme will run even for one person. It includes participation in a service department to become more familiar with our guiding principle of ‘love in action’. There are also sharings, and the possibilities of a group project, a nature outing and if there is interest, a taste of the Transformation Game. Evenings provide opportunities to join in with community activities and explore different aspects of living here, which may include spiritual and personal development, creative arts and sustainable living. These elements are also part of the Special Exploring Community Life Weeks. If you are thinking about a longer term commitment to staying at Findhorn, ECL can give you a good sense of what it is like to live at Findhorn and it is a prerequisite for joining some of our further Essential Findhorn programmes such as the Living in Community Guest Programme and Living Education Apprentice Programme. Income related price: £425 / £495 / £655

Spiritual Practice

10 - 16 March, 7 - 13 April, 30 June - 6 July Space for you to explore and connect with your innermost self. Spiritual Practice supports you to continue a path of transformation and growth in your everyday life. It gives you time to explore meditation, experience different kinds of exercises and to approach ordinary activities in a new way that encourages space for creativity and laughter. All this is spiritual practice. We look at what supports or may sabotage you deepening your practice. There are daily sessions together and afternoons are in Foundation service departments to integrate practical life with your spiritual practice. The week is less of a group experience

than Experience Week and you are more integrated into the life and rhythms of the community. The group is generally smaller. There is time to take part in community meditations and events, and one day is spent in silence as an opportunity to deepen your inner experience. These elements are also part of the Special Spiritual Practice Weeks. Income related price: £425 / £495 / £655 Experience Week prerequisite

Special Spiritual Practice Weeks Spiritual Practice - Manifestation 4 - 10 February, 3 - 9 November Franco Santoro Learn how to use spiritual practice to clarify your purpose and manifest ‘right living’. We explore your unique way of opening to spiritual guidance to unveil your potential and bring benefit to yourself, your relationships and the planet. We integrate various spiritual healing and bodywork practices with practical activities.

You can create new neural pathways that bring about personal healing and contribute to the creation of a positive world for all of life. Learn new tools that can easily be integrated into everyday life that allow you to transform your inner landscape. We release blocking beliefs and reconnect with our unlimited potential to shine.

Essential Findhorn Spiritual Practice - Permaculture 21 - 27 April, 22 - 28 September Craig Gibsone We use Permaculture principles to look at how we live our lives day to day, and to connect with the wisdom of the Earth and ourselves. This ecological design system can inspire and empower us to create and find answers within us. Income related price: £465 / £595 / £825 Experience Week prerequisite Spiritual Practice - Nature 5 - 11 May, 14 - 20 July, 18 - 24 August Katharina Brocke An introduction to the subtle dimensions of the Earth. We practise attunement to the loving intelligence within the nature kingdom in the Findhorn way. Through a combination of exercises in perception, attunement and meditation, as well as making a flower essence and working in the garden, we move closer to the beauty and uniqueness of our own soul. Income related price: £465 / £595 / £825 Experience Week prerequisite Spiritual Practice - Clay 16 - 22 June Craig Gibsone The landscape of Findhorn Bay and the surrounding coastline are an inspiration for our week. Journeying with the four elements - earth, air, fire and water - we use the medium of clay to focus and centre ourselves, and to create spiritual alchemy. There is time for reflection and insight that can be used to strengthen your inner commitment to a spiritual life. Clay is a magical and primal substance which comes alive and takes form, bringing us a sense of co-creating with the spiritual dimension of all things. Income related price: £465 / £595 / £825 Experience Week prerequisite ‘It’s an inspiration to see how a dream, a vision can grow and develop to touch so many people in so many different ways, how love for humanity and nature can come before financial or material gain.’

Spiritual Practice Active Meditation 4 - 10 August Astrid Gude This journey within will use movement, sound and breath to cleanse and balance your energy, express feelings, remove blocks, and to connect more easily with the flow of life and all that is - an experience of being light-filled spirit in a body. Income related price: £465 / £595 / £825 Experience Week prerequisite

Spiritual Practice Towards a ‘New We’ 1 - 7 September Nadasree Gadas If you are experiencing a feeling of separation or limited sensitivity to others, it often makes our contacts clumsy or awkward, mostly focused on ourselves. We will use practices that bring us to the heart level, developing our compassion and ability to empathise with the world. Through our interconnectedness we discover the beauty and aliveness in our communication and a more awake way of being with one another. Income related price: £465 / £595 / £825 Experience Week prerequisite

Spiritual Practice - Primal Painting 24 - 30 November Craig Gibsone Primal painting is a simple yet profound way of allowing your deepest self to express all the colours of your life, including all of the light and dark shades of your spiritual journey. It is an inspiring way to expand your spiritual practice and no special artistic skills are required. Income related price: £465 / £595 / £825 Experience Week prerequisite

Spiritual Practice Ritual and Ceremony 8 - 14 December Astrid Gude “Ceremonies open the lines of communication between you and the power of the universe.” - Sandra Ingerman. We will work with ceremonies and rituals that honour the elements, connect us more deeply with the web of life and strengthen our inner light and radiance for personal and planetary healing. Income related price: £465 / £595 / £825 Experience Week prerequisite

‘This week has allowed me to reconnect with what is truly important in this life.’

Spiritual Practice Living Intuitively 13 - 19 October Nadasree Gadas We know everything we need to know at any given moment. This is a journey of discovery as well as confirmation of our intuitive abilities. We will do exercises to develop our sensitivity and subtle perception, and use diverse meditation practices that enhance our inner connection and deeper listening to our own wisdom. We practise ways of bringing this enhanced sensitivity into our day-to-day living in the world. Income related price: £465 / £595 / £825 Experience Week prerequisite

Explore living in the Findhorn community for a month or more by joining the Living in Community Guest (LCG) Programme. This is a dynamic, creative and purposeful way to explore the meaning of service and to experience the gifts that come through living in community. Sharing all aspects of life in this vibrant environment opens the space for you to deepen your relationship with yourself, with God, with people, and nature creating an ever more meaningful experience of life. The programme is available in four-week segments, starting most Saturdays. It begins with clarifying your individual purpose and ends with a personal review to support you in integrating your experiences and to explore your next steps. When you want to join LCG for the first time or are returning to do the LCG Programme after several months or years, you need to participate in either Exploring Community Life, Spiritual Practice or one of our Service Weeks as a prerequisite. The Blessed Way of Passion Intensive: AstroshamanicHealing® Touch

10 - 23 March

FINDHORN FOUNDATION Franco Santoro, Ash & Simon Balderson AstroshamanicHealing® Touch is a bodywork application of Holistic Awareness and Bona Fide Sexuality. Its aim is to explore the body’s spontaneous energies of ecstasy and arousal, unveiling and directing their healing potentials with integrity, spiritual alignment and clarity of intention. We experience the multidimensional and shamanic dynamics of holistic sexuality, employing the body as a keyboard aimed at recovering and grounding planetary forces. With deep trance bodywork, we share ways of channelling profound passions, releasing blocks that hinder our potentials and celebrating the sacredness of life. Completion of the programme provides a solid basis for advanced work. There are two workshops, which may also be attended independently or expanded into a longer programme, including an optional integration week and further

workshops. Participants are held in the healing community environment and sacred landscape of the Findhorn Foundation, where this work originated in 1999. Clear group agreements are held at all times to create a safe space. Week 1 (Basic Workshop): Multidimensional Portal of the Senses This week is a complete introduction to AstroshamanicHealing® Touch and its basic applications. Through shamanic trance, energy work, dance, soul retrieval and gentle forms of physical contact we receive visions and insights, redeploying energy and passion in accordance with your life purpose and the web of life. We explore the holistic and spiritual dynamics of sexual energy, as they are playfully portrayed by the astrological archetypes, aligning ourselves with the flow of life and opening up to new horizons of purpose and harmony. We also experience the shamanic features of relationships, sharing ways to release intense feelings, promoting forgiveness, transformation and unconditional love.

Week 2 (Advanced Workshop): The Sexuality of the Void Bona Fide Sexuality is holistic and sacred sexuality embracing every aspect of life, including physical intimacy and chastity, spirituality and the divine. It is aimed at unveiling and expanding the awareness of our multidimensional nature, releasing denial and conditioning, while promoting forgiveness with a deep sense of integrity and service. During this second week you experience advanced applications of AstroshamanicHealing® Touch, including elements of Primal Embrace, a full body healing practice. The week is designed for people who intend to use this work both for yourself and in your practice with others. The previous week (or similar) is a prerequisite for attendance. Learning Systemic Inner Skills • • 24 - 30 March

During our 50th birthday year, this is a special week for you to reconnect with Findhorn energy and inspiration - remember when you first arrived here and your life changed forever? We invite you to come and share the joy and celebration of who we are as a community, everyone who has helped this centre of love and light to fulfil its potential. We envision it being a week of dancing, sharing, playing, and love in action - re-connecting with the core principles that infuse our lives: deep listening to the wisdom within, attuning to life around us and serving with a smile. If you have been wondering when would be a good time to return to Findhorn, this is it! Let’s come together as friends reuniting and celebrating our lives.

If you want to deepen your ability to work with people, learn new problem-solving skills and diagnose complex situations, this week will help you find new, holistic, sustainable solutions. You will learn to see and work systemically in an embodied way using constellation-based tools, and to cultivate awareness of interconnected invisible systems - navigating intuitively to allow movement and transformation to occur.

Who is God to us? Do we feel embarrassed or disturbed to use this word? How does the God of our early learning relate to our present experience? Is this a loving or a judging God? This workshop aims to heal, restore or deepen our relationship with God, and explore from a shamanic and holistic perspective, bridging the gap between direct experience and religious beliefs. It is a wide-ranging journey, encompassing a tapestry of shamanic practices from the Christian tradition, also with elements of Gnosticism, esoteric astrology and A Course in Miracles. Income related price: £575 / £695 / £925 Experience Week prerequisite Passing Over - Creating a Graceful Death and Transfer of Consciousness • 11 April (1 day) FINDHORN FOUNDATION William Bloom Just as we need to understand how to live, so we also need to know how to die. This workshop gives the core strategies for creating and supporting a graceful transfer of consciousness at death. The approach will be relevant to anyone wanting to prepare for their own passing or to support someone else. It is also for professional carers seeking a practical spiritual approach. It will help people too who want to bring healing to an incomplete and past encounter with someone’s death. The day draws on the classical practices of the Tibetan, Celtic and Egyptian books of the dead, but it requires no formal religious belief. It also incorporates important aspects of humanistic psychology, so that carers can be both spiritually effective and emotionally appropriate. William has been working with these strategies since his own severe illness and near-death experiences in the 1970s. www.williambloom.com

INTO CHRIST CONSCIOUSNESS

Co-creating our emerging future in a changing, challenging world

7-10 APRIL 2012 The breaking down of the old summons the breaking through of the new. The Into Christ Consciousness Gathering draws together different streams of experience to rebuild our relationship with the wholeness of Earth and to generate positive, compassionate and creative change. Throughout the ages the world’s spiritual traditions have pointed the way to a greater and inclusive reality, and quantum scientists are now talking the same language. We are all profoundly interconnected in an infinitely loving Universe. Join us for a participatory gathering in which we open to an expanded consciousness beyond the polarities of male and female, spirit and matter, dark and light – where we meet, balance and are reconciled. This is an opportunity to face fear and choose love. To awaken to Spirit and become more fully human, more truly divine. You are invited to share, co-create, be inspired and make ongoing lasting connections. Within the Easter mystery we create a group chalice connected in silence and meditation, with ceremonies of song and story, poetry and dance, practical discussion, and tools for empowerment. Together we can open a channel for a new spirituality and a new expression of Christ consciousness. • Does the beauty of the cosmos touch your soul? • Is your heart on fire to create something new? • Do you long to be a source of healing, embracing the wider whole? • Are you ready to claim your inner power and make a difference? • Do you want to engage from a place of inspiration, beyond fear?

Thriving in Changing Times • 30 June - 6 July FINDHORN FOUNDATION Astrid Gude More than ever the balance between people and nature needs to be restored. Indigenous peoples knew that a change in one part of the web of life makes

The Planetary Game • • 23 - 29 June

With Joy Drake, Kathy Tyler, Mary Inglis & InnerLinks Faculty Come and join us for this special event marking the Findhorn Foundation community’s 50th year! The Planetary Game is a large-scale version of the Game of Transformation. Born originally here at Findhorn more than 35 years ago as a way of representing our approach to life, the Game is one of the most creative impulses to come out of the community. Today players and trained facilitators engage with the different versions of it in over 40 countries around the world, and the box Game has been translated into 9 different languages. The Planetary Game involves up to 120 participants in five Playing Areas. Focused around a life-sized Game path on the floor, it provides an exciting, multi-dimensional environment in which we can connect with and honour our individual paths and contribution within the whole, while also engaging our hearts, minds and spirits with collective issues and challenges in today’s world. The Game begins with each participant choosing one of the Playing Areas to work in, formulating an intention that is personally meaningful, and selecting a role to play: Player, Insight, Setback, Angel or Witness. Each Area represents a particular aspect of human activity. As we are all involved in all of them, collectively we will deepen into each of them and learn from the interplay between them. Although there is personal growth, insight and healing, the Planetary Game is played at far more than just the personal level. Its effectiveness depends on our capacity to recognise ourselves in one another, to see the world within ourselves and ourselves within the world, and to respond accordingly. It requires us to take responsibility for being co-creative participants in the wellbeing of a wholeness larger than just our own.

34

We are each a fractal of the whole, of the soul and body of humanity, of the soul and body of the world. The currents of our times move through and come to focus in each one of us. Our work in the Game is to contain and hold these trends within ourselves and, from this alchemical process, to allow the makings of a new consciousness to emerge and give shape to new forms. The world today stands at a threshold moment, a moment which is echoed in us individually, and in our groups and collective structures. The future is calling for a radical revisioning of our relationship to ourselves, each other, and the whole earth community. The Findhorn Foundation community is consciously engaging with this moment in its 50th year. In the Planetary Game, we too can do this, playing not just for ourselves, but for one another, humanity and our world. Do come and join us as we bring collective wisdom to both personal and global issues, explore our interconnectedness, and engage our capacity to generate positive pathways and presence in these turbulent times. 21 - 22 July, 23 - 27 July

FINDHORN FOUNDATION Richard Olivier, Lesley Quilty, Jonathan Dawson & Gill Emslie Module 1: Inspirational Leadership Lessons from Shakespeare’s Henry V 21 - 22 July

Module 2: Activating the Archetypes Liberating Hidden Inner Potentials 23 - 27 July

Of all Shakespeare’s stories, Henry V offers us the deepest insights into the nature of inspiration. Using the unique experiential learning tool of Mythodrama, participants will consider Henry’s journey through leadership, drawing parallels with your own experiences, exploring who you are and how you currently communicate as leaders. Leaders need to be visible. They need to show up with vision and purpose in a way that inspires others and truly reflects their passion and commitment with authenticity.

We will use the unique experiential form of Mythodrama to live into and explore the wisdom of the four primary archetypes as defined by Jungian analyst Robert Moore: Sovereign, Warrior, Magician and Lover. We free ourselves from restrictive old patterns and effectively ‘act in’ the new archetypes that we need to liberate future potential in our lives by exploring our current state of access to each, then working with theatrical technique and ritual process.

4-Week Findhorn Foundation Holistic Awareness and Astroshamanism

11 August - 7 September

FINDHORN FOUNDATION Franco Santoro Holistic Awareness is based on the experience that all aspects of life are intimately related and part of the same whole. According to this perspective there is no separation and we can find our sense of purpose only if we acknowledge the wider reality in which we exist. This reality also includes what lies beyond our ordinary perception and can effectively deepen the awareness of who we truly are. Astroshamanism is a holistic system of healing aimed at expanding human perception through integration of the basic principles of shamanism with experiential astrology, the contemporary revival of archaic mystery traditions and the spirit of the Findhorn Community. This 4-week intensive offers a unique and thorough exposure to holistic and shamanistic practice and gives continuity of contact with the workshop focalisers. The workshop is designed for newcomers as well as if you wish to consolidate previous experiences with shamanism or related methods,

Love, Magic, Miracles • • An Autumn 2012 International Conference 29 September - 5 October Conference Organisers, Michael Hawkins & Antonio Palmieri To mark the Findhorn Foundation community’s 50th anniversary year, our Love, Magic, Miracles conference will explore and celebrate the spiritual truth that love is the greatest power on earth. For millennia, spiritual teachers including Findhorn founders Eileen Caddy and Dorothy Maclean have proclaimed this truth. A truth that crossed over to the cultural mainstream when the Beatles sang, All You Need Is Love. We also explore and celebrate magic and miracles, potent energies that form a weave for our week with love. Held in the unique and magical environment of the Findhorn Foundation, one of the world’s leading holistic and spiritual communities, the starting point will be from the inner, discovering how we can open ourselves to divine grace, manifest everyday miracles and make our lives and those around us more magical. While the panorama of the week will be global, the conference will provide the opportunity to celebrate how these energies have formed and influenced the role of the Findhorn Community and how the Community has inspired many through these three graces. Magic and miracles, like inner guidance, are particularly associated with the Findhorn Community which has worked discerningly with these energies, demonstrating that these qualities are part and parcel of everyday life. Our work with nature is a shining example of this. The conference will explore how magic flows from love, and how synchronicity and manifestation occur when our will is aligned with divine will. Magic will be explored as that certain something we feel in the presence of beauty

and mystery, when a moment is so special that we feel its power. We are in a period of unprecedented global change, when there is much that is seemingly despairing, unloving, grotesque and unacceptable in the world. By focusing on Love, Magic and Miracles, the energies birthed and sent out will serve the world. Hosting this conference in 2012 will be a fitting way of celebrating Findhorn’s 50th birthday and responding to the planet’s evolution. We are bringing together an inspiring team of international teachers and artists. They will help take our understanding of these graces to another level in a grounded and contemporary manner. Presenters include: Caroline Myss, Robert Holden, Andrew Harvey, Little Grandmother, J Philip Newell and Barbara Swetina This conference will be both blessed and a blessing for all, nurturing and inspiring; you and the planet will be graced with new tools, approaches and possibilities for your ongoing journey. We welcome your participation at this significant event. Income related price: £595 / £695 / £795 Follow-on discount, page 47

Caroline Myss - Master Class • On the Path to Becoming a Congruent Human Being 6 - 8 October

40

Through the course of my work I have been asked countless times about the purpose of life and have tried out many answers. Eventually I realised that the spiritual path is really very simple: the challenge facing each of us is to become a truly congruent human being. It takes a lifetime (or maybe thousands of them) but the goal we are after, regardless of all the words we use, is that we are seeking exactly that - inner congruence.

What would a congruent human being be like? Here are some examples:Your sense of self-esteem is rooted in personal integrity, no need to prove self-worth; your intuitive guidance works in harmony and not in opposition to intellectual and emotional resources; you are someone highly attuned and respectful of the energetic feedback constantly being channeled through your biological channels; you seek truth rather than fear it.

Simple to articulate, but not so simple or easy to become a congruent human being. Yet, accomplishing this is the jewel around which spins all the other goals we associate with the reasons we pursue a spiritual path. You cannot be truly healthy if you are out of alignment; you cannot be truly honest with yourself or others if your head and heart exist as two separate forces within you; you cannot ever know what the fulfilled life is if you are always compromising your intuition and inner guidance for fear of the consequences; you can never consider yourself a truly honest person if you live a life of continual compromise and self-betrayal. Nor can you fully heal when you fear truth and honesty.

So attuned are we to this need to be congruent that we can seek it in every relationship we have and even in every room we walk into. We immediately sense when we are out of alignment with someone or something or some place. Congruence is second nature to us because it is indeed our spiritual comfort zone. In this Master Class, my focus is on but one goal: Becoming a Congruent Human Being. What does this require? How would that change your life? What are the spiritual strategies you have to commit to, to stay on this path? Income related price: £425 / £495 / £655 Follow-on discount, page 47
