Findlay Galleries is pleased to present the latest works from “My paintings are an unashamed and joyous celebration of life, a passionate defence of beauty and domestic harmony, steeped in the English and French Romantic tradition. Through the arrangement of shape, line, pattern and colour I try to conjure the lyrical and the dreamlike, a place at peace with itself. The paintings do not generally represent an actual moment in time, but are rather the result of a process of reflection, recollection and reinvention, a distillation of human experience. considered one of the great Representational Figurative painters, with a style indicative of Henri Matisse, who is known for his expressive color and movement. In the following work Grenville has given us figures engulfed strokes. His ability to move colors into forms and forms into colors is spontaneous and free-spirited. The masterful use of light and reflection provide a sense of space and depth. This is an exhibition one should not miss considering its uplifting spirit and joie de vivre!
