Sea View Road

You need to cross the threshold to really appreciate everything this veritable Tardis of an extended, five bedroom chalet bungalow has to offer, including a two bedroom detached annex and flexible accommodation. It is set well back from the road and approached through an impressive entrance with finialled pillars onto a large crazy paving driveway where you can park at least four cars. The porch and inner front door open into the entrance hall with engineered oak flooring, plenty of storage cupboards and a corridor that leads to the contemporary rooms on the ground floor.

There is an attractive kitchen with a large central granite topped island/breakfast bar incorporating an integrated fridge and freezer as well as a range cooker and modern units housing a built in microwave, dishwasher and wine rack. There is a wide archway to the dining area providing an open plan feel and access to the spacious dual aspect, L-shaped lounge with an Art Deco style fireplace and French doors to the decked terrace. This floor also includes a charming principal double bedroom with a box bay window and a wall of fitted cupboards as well as two further double bedrooms, a cloakroom and the family bathroom.

On the first floor there is an impressive double bedroom with a vaulted ceiling, masses of eaves storage and a delightful en suite bathroom with gorgeous mosaic tiles. There is also a large single room with Velux windows and a pleasant view over the garden that would make an excellent office or a ‘den’ for younger family members where they can entertain friends.

Outside this property offers even more delights. As well as the decked terrace for al fresco dining there is also a wide path flanked by shrub borders and a large lawn interspersed with trees including a lovely magnolia. The path leads to a newly converted annex incorporating a good sized living room and kitchen with fitted units, a built in oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer as well as two double bedrooms and a contemporary shower room with a double shower. This would be ideal for elderly relatives, older children or as a holiday let for anyone looking to enhance their income. There is also a log cabin/games room currently housing a pool table as well as a summerhouse.

Seller Insight

We have thoroughly enjoyed living here for the past eight years but we feel it is time to downsize although we shall be staying local as we really like the area.

It is not far to the centre of town and local beaches and is also only a short distance from the renowned North Foreland golf course for golfing aficionados. It is ideal for those who want to enjoy sandy beaches, swimming and surfing in the summer while there are great places for walking the dog all year round. For anyone who likes ride there is a nearby stables and several sporting clubs provide recreational activities including cricket, bowls, tennis and rugby.

Broadstairs is a lovely Victorian seaside town with a wide variety of individual shops, beaches, bars and restaurants as well as annual events such as Folk Week, the Dickens Festival and the Food Fair. Another advantage of Broadstairs and nearby Ramsgate is that they have some very good primary, grammar and private schools while you can be in central London on the high speed train in under an hour and a half from Broadstairs station.*
