According to the brand’s Chief Marketing Officer, Emilie Despois, the partnership will support the brand’s international marketing strategy, while increasing the UK network’s exposure to an international audience.

Fine & Country agents now have access to ListGlobally’s management system, allowing them to feed their UK property listings through to the network of 106 international portals, which will expose the properties to approximately 295 million buyers across 54 countries. To ensure that as many people as possible can read the property descriptions, the information will be automatically translated into the appropriate language for the country, with the system supporting over 25 languages. This provides massive exposure to listings, as well as the brand, on a worldwide level.

> Fine & Country Foundation opens applications for Autumn Grant Scheme

The Fine & Country Foundation has launched its Autumn Grant Scheme, which provides an opportunity for agents to nominate charities and non-profit organisations across the globe that require financial assistance. Amidst the instability of the current economic climate and the strains being felt across the world, this year’s round of Autumn Grants could make a more significant impact than ever.

The Grant Scheme aims to provide support to organisations focussed on fighting homelessness and poverty. Grants are issued in spring and autumn each year, with Fine & Country offices around the world encouraged to submit applications nominating a charity of their choice to receive a donation of up to £3,000.

The Foundation donated over £31,752 during the Spring Grant Scheme this year, in addition to the other initiatives the organisation supported throughout 2022. So far during 2022, The Foundation has donated over £122,841 to charities.

With the cost-of-living crisis placing additional financial pressure on many organisations, the Grant Scheme could be a lifeline to many. There is no doubt that organisations will be feeling the impact of rising bills, which will impact their ability to carry out the work they do effectively. While a grant may not solve all problems, we hope that it will help and have a positive impact on their local community.

DAY 1

Wherever you may be staying, after breakfast, jump on the metro and head to Vallcarca metro station. From here, it’s a 10-minute walk to Park Güell, which provides the perfect, dazzling introduction to the face of Catalan Modernism, Antoni Gaudí. Park Güell is a series of public parks that opened in 1926 and have since been named as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park is one of the largest green spaces in Barcelona, covering more than 17 hectares, so there’s a lot of ground to cover. While exploring, don’t miss the hike up to the highest point, marked with a cross. This spot boasts incredible views across Barcelona and the Balearic Sea. It’s also worth stopping by Casa Museu Gaudí to see where the architect lived.

From Park Güell, wander through the Gracia neighbourhood and let yourself be tempted by one of the bakeries packed with mouthwatering treats or a trendy café, for a quick refuel to get you through to lunch.

It’s time for another of Gaudí’s masterpieces, La Sagrada Família, which dominates the city’s skyline. This vast Catholic basilica is currently the largest unfinished Catholic church in the world — its construction started back in 1882 and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight, with an ever-changing completion date. Unfinished it may be, but it is still a spectacle to behold. Expect a lot of colour and Gaudí’s signature quirky details. Also expect a wait – there is often a queue to get in that snakes around the block. Once inside and bedazzled, don’t miss the crypt beneath, where Gaudí is buried.

For an authentic lunchtime experience, head to La Boqueria, just off Las Ramblas. This is Barcelona’s oldest market, packed with local produce and Catalan specialties, like perfectly aged jamón ibérico and crispy croquettes. Wander at whim or, if food is really your thing, take a tour, sampling along the way. On your way out, take your full belly to the Palau de la Musica Catalana, a concert hall designed in the Catalan Modernista style by architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner. It’s worth taking a guided tour here that takes you beyond the concert hall itself,

although the 2,146-seat venue with an ornate glass roof is a definite highlight.

Take in the touts on touristy Las Ramblas, the broad boulevard that runs through the heart of the city, as you make your way to the Gothic Quarter, ready to get lost in the narrow winding streets. Here, you’ll find everything from boutiques and cafés to the Picasso Museum, the impressive Barcelona Cathedral, and the 26-foot-long “The World Begins With Every Kiss” mosaic mural.

For a final Gaudí hit for the day, swing by Casa Mila (La Pedrera) on Passeig de Gracia. This is one of Barcelona’s most iconic buildings and exploring it in the evening is magical. Book ahead for La Pedrera Night Experience, which includes a guided tour and a number of audio-visual presentations, featuring projections on the stairwells, special lighting and an accompanying soundtrack. Afterwards, the Gracia neighbourhood is a great spot to find a local restaurant or jazz club in which to while away the remainder of the evening.

DAY 2

A stroll around the Parc de la Ciutadella, a vast green oasis right in the centre of Barcelona, is a relaxing way to start your second day. This is Barcelona’s largest park and home to the Parliament of Catalonia and the Cascada del Parc de la Ciutadella — the city’s most elaborate fountain.

Once you find the zoo on the edge of the park, catch the metro to Jardins de Miramar at the base of Montjuïc. It’s roughly a 20-minute walk up this small mountain, which offers breathtaking views of the city. Alternatively, you can catch the Montjuïc Cable Car, rest your legs, and enjoy panoramic views on your way to the top. Once there, you’ll be greeted with beautiful gardens and museums including the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, which houses two floors of work by European Renaissance and Baroque artists. The grounds of Montjuïc Castle make an atmospheric setting for a picnic.

Making your way back into the city, it’s time to take in one of Barcelona’s beaches. There’s some 4.5km of coastline within Barcelona’s city limits, so there are a number of stretches of sand to choose from. Barceloneta is the most popular and is definitely the best choice for people-watching, but if you want something a little quieter, consider Bogatell or Nova Icària, with the latter being the most family-friendly.

Is any visit to Spain complete without sampling some paella? We think not. The seaside neighbourhood of Barceloneta serves up some of the city’s best paella, so why not tuck in while you’re over this way?

All good things must come to an end, but not quite yet –you should have enough time to toast the city in one of the many cocktail bars before your 48 hours in Barcelona draw to a close.

Located in the Greek region of Messinia in the southwest Peloponnese, one of the most unspoiled seaside landscapes in the Mediterranean, Costa Navarino is the newest golfing, hospitality and residential destination resort to join the European Tour Destinations network. With flights to Kalamata International Airport from most European cities, it is easily accessible via a short scenic drive, and it is only 270 kilometres from Athens.

The genuine desire to protect and preserve the natural beauty and heritage of the area is the underlying philosophy of this development. Consequently, the building footprint is less than 10 per cent of the total land area. Of course, the plethora of golf courses helps sustain this ratio.

With four outstanding golf courses, including two new courses designed by José María Olazábal at Navarino Hills which opened in February this year, golfers are spoilt for choice. It’s no surprise that Costa Navarino was named Number 1 in Golf World’s ‘Top 100 Resorts in Continental Europe’ ranking this year. The Dunes Course was the first signature course in Greece. Designed by Bernhard Langer in association with European Golf Design, with multiple sets of tees, it caters for all golfers. It is set in a diverse natural landscape with links-style features close to spectacular sea views. It then moves further inland into olive and fruit groves. In season, golfers are welcome to sample ripe fruit on their way round.

The Bay Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., offers a different set of challenges and experiences. It plays a little shorter than the Dunes Course, but still features amazing sea views, particularly with the holes playing along the historic Bay of Navarino. From bayside, the course moves to the canyon with elevated tee beds, then onto the grove holes where more than 1,000 mature olive trees were saved during construction and transplanted along the perimeter.

The two new 18-hole golf courses are designed by José María Olazábal and are set above the coastline with

panoramic views of the countryside, the Bay of Navarino, and the Ionian Sea. Navarino Hills was awarded the “World’s Best New Golf Development” at the 2020 World Golf Awards, which is testament to its quality. The new clubhouse alongside the two courses has been built using local stone materials. This ensures the design is in keeping with the local environment. It has also been built with the aim of achieving class A+ energy efficiency, and features photovoltaic panels.

Adjacent to the clubhouse is the state-of-the-art practice facility. This includes a 340-metre-long driving range, a dedicated golf academy building with a private putting and chipping green and an innovative one-hectare shortgame area.

There is more than an outstanding golf experience on offer. The range of activities extends from land-based activities to amazing water-based experiences. Kayaking, water skiing, sailing and paddle boarding make the most of the coastal environment. Messinia’s crystal-clear waters with near-perfect visibility provide opportunities to explore the beauty of the undersea world and the Mediterranean sea life. Land-based sports include tennis at the recently launched Mouratoglou Tennis Center, and cycling. Further inland, rock climbers are rewarded with breathtaking views of the Ionian Sea.

For those who need to recharge their batteries with more gentle activities, there is yoga, and spa treatments based on the health and beauty practices of ancient Greece. These make full use of the region’s natural and revitalising ingredients. Local ingredients also form part of the dining experiences across all the 27 dining venues.
