SELLER INSIGHT
The size of the property and location was really important to us as we needed a home to accommodate multi-generational living, as well as being close to our family in London. We were looking for somewhere just outside of the city in a countryside setting, so this property and position really suited our requirements,” say the owners.
“We’ve lived here since 2012 and have made some big changes during that time, including adding an orangery to the rear of the property, as well as completely remodelling the kitchen. We also took the opportunity to go upwards to create an amazing roof light which has transformed the room. It’s always full of natural light and is a lovely space in which to spend time.”
“The garden to the rear of the property is the ideal size for us as it’s easy to maintain. It’s very private and we’re not really overlooked, so it’s perfect for relaxing and entertaining. It’s fully enclosed, so it’s safe for children and animals, and we have different paved areas and a patio where we have enjoyed get-togethers with friends and family. Surrey Wildlife Trust is just behind us and we can walk through the gate into beautiful woodland and lakes. It attracts a lot of wildlife and we see lots of birds and squirrels, as well as the occasional deer.”
“There is a shop in the village for the day-to-day essentials or we can head into nearby Dorking, Horsham, and Guildford for shopping and other amenities. There are some very good schools in the area and it’s a straightforward commute into London from Dorking station, so the location is ideal for people of all life stages. We also have some fun groups to get involved with in the villages, including Pilates, tennis, cricket, and bowls.”
“In the summer, we can usually be found in the orangery with the doors open to the garden, whilst winter evenings are best spent warm and cosy in the snug. The kitchen is where it all happens though! We host Christmas dinner here with our family and we all congregate in the kitchen and orangery whilst we prepare the food and chat before heading into the dining room where all 11 of us can easily fit around the table.”*
Then onto triple garage with resin bonded flooring, electricity and space in the roof, accessed by a ladder, a great place to keep precious cars.
This exceptional home has the perfect combination of neighbours to feel safe and seclusion for privacy and if you need extra outdoor space for football or rounders there is a green for residents use just outside your driveway.
