Seller Insight
I have lived in big cities for most of my life and I just love the sense of escapism and country lifestyle that this lovely village of Farthinghoe offers. It’s like a country oasis here and it’s great to come home and shut the door on the hustle and bustle of everyday life, yet everything we need is easily accessible, so it really is the best of both worlds,” say the owners.
“There’s a strong sense of community with a busy village hall and welcoming pub at the heart of it all. The summer fete is well supported and there are plenty of other activities to take part in throughout the year, including big sporting events that are usually shown at the pub. It’s a fantastic place to catch up with friends and best of all, it’s within easy walking distance! There are a variety of country pursuits to enjoy too, such as horse riding, walking, and even skydiving at Hinton Airfield. We’re just 15 minutes away from Silverstone and the Red Arrows fly right over the house on the way to the British Grand Prix which is always an amazing sight.”
“The country-style garden is mainly laid to lawn and is fully enclosed by a beautiful Cotswold stone wall, so it’s perfect for children and animals to safely run around. It’s a real sun trap in the summer and the patio is the perfect spot for a coffee in the morning. The village peacock has made the odd appearance or two in the garden and, when the wind is blowing the right way, we can even hear the sound of the sky diver’s parachutes deploying.”
“Granary Cottage is a characterful old property with modern features that are ideal for today’s lifestyle. The master bedroom and en suite are a great size with lots of storage and the cellar would make a lovely place to store wine. The thing that really works for me though is the downstairs space and layout. We just open the double doors separating the dining room and lounge to create a large entertaining area that flows out through patio doors to the garden. It gives a lovely feeling of bringing the outside in. The front room is another cosy space where we can hide away and relax in front of the wood burning stove.”*
