NANT-Y-DDERWEN
ACCOMMODATION
Situated on the edge of the picturesque village of Brechfa, is Nant Y Dderwen. A spacious, light and welcoming 4 bed detached dormer bungalow within easy walking distance to the center of the village.
Approached via a double entranced driveway, with electric gates, the entrance is impressive and is a feel of what’s to come. Inside you are greeted by a large entrance hallway that leads off to a light living space, large kitchen/diner, with utility, and boot room, benefitting from doors opening out onto the impressive garden. There are 2 spacious bedrooms on the first floor and a family bathroom.
Upstairs are 2 further bedrooms, both with en-suites and countryside views.
Outside is a fully gated manicured garden, with a sociable hot tub area, perfect for entertaining and taking in those countryside views. There is plenty of parking space with a triple garage, one with a room above that is currently being used as a home gym, but has heaps of flexibility to be used as an office space or arts and crafts room.
A well looked after, peaceful, rural home, within walking distance of amenities and only 12 miles from the county town of Carmarthen.
SELLER INSIGHT
The rural setting and peaceful location of the property was a big attraction for us. We’re around 800m away from the village and only have a couple of neighbours, so we all have our own space on this quiet little road. The property has instant kerb appeal and stands out beautifully with its magnificent Welsh stone, and the views are second to none as we look out over the vast expanse of countryside, mountains, and fields,” say the owners.
“We’ve lived here for nearly 9 years and have made many improvements during that time, including the addition of stone flooring, marble worktops and Belfast sinks in the kitchen, and changed one of the Victorian entrance gates to electric. We also built a third garage and converted the rooms across the top into a home gym which is one of the standout features for me.”
“We also added a decked area with balustrades and a covered hot tub which takes full advantage of the stunning views. It’s just beautiful at night when we sit there in the peace and quiet. The fully enclosed garden is idyllic and is broken up into different areas of interest, including rockeries bursting with an abundance of colour throughout the year. The large patio runs the length of the house and it’s the perfect spot for BBQs and get togethers, including birthday parties and Jubilee celebrations, but it’s equally as good for relaxing on a deckchair in the sunshine.”
“The village has a well-stocked shop run by volunteers, as well as a beautiful pub dating back to the 17th century, B&Bs, and a busy hotel that does fabulous 5 course meals. The village hall hosts a range of activities for all ages, including bowls, over 60s club, and dinners. We have duck races throughout the year and a Post Office van with banking facilities comes to the village every other day. The area is renowned for its amazing mountain bike trails, so that’s a big thing here, as well as walking and riding.”
“Nant-y-Dderwen is perfect for day-to-day family life and entertaining. The kitchen is a very sociable space where we can accommodate a large number of guests for informal buffet evenings, whilst the comfortable living room is ideal for relaxing, listening to music, watching tv and ju st looking out over those stunning views.”*
