“The original house was probably built at some point in the 1970s and it had definitely seen better days, but we loved the fact that it was set well back from the lane and had the most amazing garden, which is absolutely huge and backs onto a field so the outlook is lovely. The property was ripe for development and I’d say that the house we’ve built is far more befitting of this lovely location.”

When the sun is shining we can push back the bi-folding doors and create a really amazing space where we can sit out, relax in the sun and have a BBQ while the grandchildren are splashing around in the swimming pool… It’s like being on a permanent holiday! We also have a hot tub, a bar area with a TV, and we’ve installed shutters that go up and down at the push of a button so when we’re done we can close it up and it’s protected from the elements.”
“Something else we’ve enjoyed is the location. At home we feel nicely tucked away, but we have the peace of mind of knowing that everything we need is within easy reach. The village itself has a very nice pub, a community shop and a hall that is a hive of activity, and a little bit further down the road is there’s a huge M&S. We’ve also enjoyed the fact that we’re surrounded by fields and vineyards and vast swathes of woodland so it’s a really nice place if you love walking, and at the same time we also benefit from really good road and rail links so it’s relatively easy to get just about anywhere.”
“This is a property that has provided us and our wider family with a really fantastic quality of life. However, we want to slow down and travel more so we’ve decided that the time is right to downsize, but it’s going to be a real wrench to leave. I’ll definitely be sad to leave this house, but it’s the times we’ve spent out in the garden watching the grandchildren having the time of their lives that I’ll miss most. It’s a place that’s filled with amazing memories!”*
