DIY Homemade Citrus Cleaner
Making your own cleaner can be both fun for you and better for the environment. There are a ton of chemicals n store bought cleaners so why not make something that works just as good but with much less dangerous ingredients. Citrus fruit, such as oranges and lemons are acidic, which makes them the perfect ingredient for a homemade cleaner. These fruits work great as a stain remover, freshener and a degreaser as well. Oranges have a high concentration of vitamin C, about 50 mg are contained in just one orange, which makes around 2/3 of our daily need of this vitamin. They are also known to be a detoxifying fruit. Lemons are also an excellent source of vitamin C, but a lemon only contains about 25 mg of it. Which is around 31% of our daily needs. Also it is said that lemon juice is used to scare away evil spirits in Malaysia, so you will not only have a clean and fresh smelling home but a spirit free one as well. This recipe is for an all-purpose non-toxic cleaner using just two ingredients:  
Citrus peels White vinegar
Simply put your citrus peels in a jar, filling at least half of it. Then pour vinegar all over them until you've filled the jar. Let the mixture sit in a dark place for at least two weeks. This allows it to blend and marinate and it helps the essential oils from the citrus peels to mix with the white vinegar. This
process not only creates a fresh odour but also turns this into a potent cleaner. When the mixture is ready the vinegar should be yellowish in colour and have a strong citrus smell. Afterwards strain it and pour it into a spray bottle. You can use it as you would any other all-purpose cleaner. This DIY cleaner, provided by Fine London Cleaning is amazing because it only needs two ingredients and yet it does a great job cleaning grime and dirt and leaves a nice citrusy scent. It's eco-friendly because it is biodegradable and perfectly safe to use, but also it 's making use of products that would otherwise be thrown away. Plus besides being all natural it basically costs nothing to make. Citrus peels contain limonene, which is a natural solvent that helps you clean your home and has the power to dissolve grease, while vinegar kills most germs, mold and bacteria thanks to its acidity level. Vinegar has long been used to remove grime and any other residue. Soaking the two together creates a solution that is absolutely safe to use anywhere in your household. It can be used for cleaning kitchen countertops, laminate surfaces, or even the bathroom. Just remember to test it out on the surface before using it for the first time, especially on wooden surfaces. Because it may cause slight discoloration on them. Besides the slight trouble you might have with wood this cleaner is great for cleaning stone, ceramic or porcelain surfaces. But if you still want to use it on wood it would be a good idea to dilute the mixture with water. Usually the concentration depends on your intended use but a 1:1 ratio is a safe bet. The best part about citrus cleaners is that you can reuse the peels, just cover them in vinegar again to make another batch. Another use for the peels is to put them in the garbage disposal in order to deodorize and disinfect your sink. Keep in mind that despite being non-toxic, this solution will burn if you spray it directly or near your eyes so be cautious.
