Farmers Only FARM WITH US IN THE AUSTRALIAN POLYFACE PADDOCK-TO-PLATE BUSINESS MODEL
Farming Opportunity Farmers, Here is a an opportunity to dynamically improve your fortunes in the paddock-to-plate market in a model based on PolyFace farm, Virginia. The Farm is making an offer to six motivated farmers to farm their chosen produce on a mixed farm at high-rainfall Nimbin, selling direct to Gold Coast consumers one hour from The Farm.Â
Each Farmer will have 1. An individual legal title home site. 2. Legal rights to 160 acres zone A agricultural land 3. Agricultural infrastructure saving the farmer tens of thousands in farm set up costs 4.  Built in marketing and distribution to the high-end Gold Coast market of 500,000 consumers. 5. Sustainable agriculture model; no costs for fertiliser inputsÂ
Your Role Your role is to produce the best product you possibly can on agriculturally sustainable, non-toxic land. Farming will begin from 1 January 2018. Training or long-term interests in permaculture, holistic management, organic farming or other soil-focussed techniques is an advantage.
The NSW Dept. of Industry plan to use TheFarm as an environmental showpiece at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold coast if we are ready in time.
Farmers Farm TheFarm has Australian influences. Unlike Polyface USA where family members manage production units, at The Farm individual farmers are ‘the family’. Produce is marketed direct to Gold Coast consumers allowing farmers to focus on producing to the best of their ability and not sidetracked by perpetual packing and unpacking for markets where price and sales volume are not guaranteed. Higher prices and stable volume come from prime food. Farmers’ marketing input is media interviews and attending our mutual produce presentations.
On Farm Commercial Kitchen Each farmer operates as an independent business sharing resources normally inaccessible to small enterprise including an onfarm commercial kitchen adding value to farmer produce, for example, making nutritious organic pies for local schools and preprepared local food meals for Gold Coast and Byron restaurants.Â
Infrastructure Infrastructure and the area of land you require on the 160 acres, not including your fellow farmers’ house sites includes: • Near new air-conditioned 60HP tractor 4 in 1 bucket plus implements • Machinery shed • 6kms of boundary fences including 500 metres of goat fence • High grade internal electric fencing and remote control 60001 Speedrite unigiser • Water troughs and water access to each of the electrified paddocks • Cattle yards • Soon tennis/basketball/handball court, clear water swimming, tower to bring wireless NBN to entire property, emergency button at every home and vehicle. • Commercial kitchen. •Marketing and distribution • Access to the tiny house village to run your own on-farm training programs, or to host gatherings of your family and friends.
Bio Diversity is a Prime Value Paddocks are dotted by pockets of bush leading to protected gullies the home of tiny native birds sheltering from the pair of wedge-tailed eagles patrolling the valley.
Insects have their place as do wallabies and all else who lived there before The Farm came along. Many species of frog and dragonfly thrive in the natural borders around each of the 5 dams, one of 12 million litres.
Legal Title Farmers house sites of one acre or more, most with stunning views, are strata titled. (Community Title similar to high rise title) . You have absolute control of your own home site. You can borrow against or sell when you want. You also have shared control of all the agricultural land and infrastructure. Sites began @ $175,000, some finance available.
Gondolin You have access to the tiny house village to run your own on-farm training programs, or to host gatherings of your family and friends
On a separate wing of the farm will be 10 environmentally sustainable dwellings; the ‘Tiny House’ hamlet Gondolin. Using only solar energy and design to maintain climate equanimity, these low cost and unique buildings create an ‘other-world’ atmosphere, a combination of Hobbit and sustainable smarts. Gondolin provides casual tourism accommodation, houses farm trainees, and is a display village for sustainable housing. Gondolin design is being managed by the head of architecture at an Australian university. Students of architecture and design are expected to be drawn to the hamlet as will those with an interest in lessening their own individual carbon footprint. Farmers have access for family visits and for accommodation.
“Good farmers, who take seriously their duties as stewards of Creation and of their land's inheritors, contribute to the welfare of society in more ways than society usually acknowledges, or even knows. These farmers produce valuable goods, of course; but they also conserve soil, they conserve water, they conserve wildlife, they conserve open space, they conserve scenery.”

Promoting sustainable agriculture technique specifically, and sustainability generally is a key value in emerging agriculture techniques. A major public relations campaign will be managed by a professional credited with creating the widest media coverage of any Australian tourism project. The Sustainability message is delivered by an image-driven public relations campaign that includes social media, business, rural, and lifestyle programs: Good Morning Australia, Grand Design, Landline, ABC News Breakfast et al.
Media relations tactics include a nutritionist, farmers, scientists, and chefs appearing in electronic and print media. TheFarmNimbin will positioned as a reference for sustainable food and lifestyle. the campaign is directed to a national audience and the images and stories will also have international appeal.
Register Your Interest The Farm Nimbin model can be repeated close to any major regional centre.
