Next, we felt that the perfect way to choose food is by trying it first, so we decided not to sell our products in shops, but through tasting events. And this linked to our third aim: to give foodies like myself a rewarding new way to share their passion. Our Tasting events are therefore run by our friendly consultants, who also contribute recipe and product ideas (some of which are featured here in Menu). Over the years, our range and our company have grown. In 2014 we became part of the CVSL family of companies – a move that is turbo-charing all three parts of our original vision. Of course, none of this would be possible without people like you, so thank you. Happy cooking!

SOUTH AFRICAN SPARE RIBS Serves 4–6 40ml (2 tbsp) My Secret Kitchen South African Cape Rub 2 racks of pork spare ribs (about 1.5kg each) 190ml (¾ cup) apple juice 190ml (¾ cup) water Rub the pork ribs with all but 20ml (1 tbsp) of the South African Cape Rub. Leave at

room temperature for 1 hour, or chill overnight. In a bowl, whisk together remaining South African Cape Rub with the apple juice and water, then set aside. Preheat grill to 110C–140C. Place ribs top-side down on the rack of the grill pan. Grill with an indirect heat, turning once and basting with sauce every 20 minutes for 2 to 4 hours, until the tip of a small knife slips slips easily in and out of the meat.

Grab a spoon, open the lid and prepare to make your meals more amazing! Developed in our own kitchen and made for us right here in the UK, each one of these products is also suitable for vegetarians. 4

JUMBO PASTA SHELLS Serves 4–6 500g jumbo pasta shells 200g fresh peas 150g ricotta cheese Zest of 1 ⁄2 lemon 2 tbsp olive oil 3 tbsp My Secret Kitchen Artichoke Pesto 1 tsp My Secret Kitchen Lime & Cracked Pepper Salt Dust Boil the shells in salted water until al dente, and then drain and put to one side. In the warm pan, add the olive oil, Artichoke Pesto, peas, lemon zest and Lime & Cracked Pepper Salt Dust, and mix together. Return the shells to the pan and stir gently with the artichoke mixture before adding the ricotta in teaspoon-sized portions. Serve immediately.

HOSTING A TASTING A My Secret Kitchen Tasting is a great foodie experience. It’s a fabulous way to get your friends together and do something different and enjoyable at home. Hosting a Tasting is easy as we bring the food – although, if you wish, you can choose to provide some optional extras that will add to the experience. Your consultant will provide you with a host pack to help you prepare and answer any questions, but essentially all you need to do is invite your friends and provide some drinks.

A fun way of fundraising A My Secret Kitchen Tasting can also be an alternative way of fundraising. Whether you hold a Tasting of your own or make it part of another event (such as a village fête or school fair) we’ll share fundraising proceeds with your chosen charity.
