MENTAL ACROBAT WASTE TO WEALTH Mental acrobat is a project located in Chye Seng Huat , 150 Tyrwhi� Rd, Singapore. It is a space dedicated for sustainable wood bespoke furnitures master cra�smen and appren�ces. The space held workshop for people to learn to make wood bespoke furniture from scrapwoods. The design is based on the design statement “Waste to Wealth” ,aiming to visibilized the cra� produc�on process , from the recycling , making process, to exhibi�ng the end products. It also promotes sustainability and openness in order to bring back the impressions of nature to the site

The “Waste to Wealth” produc�on cycle can be seen on the front sec�onal perspec�ve (A-A). The cycle is started from the recycling room, produc�on area (workshop & finishing room), & ended at the retail & exhibi�on space where the end products being displayed.

STRANGER THINKS WORKSHOP PROJECT Stranger Thinks is a small workshop project held in the early of semester 1 in year 2. The project aims to observe , re-think , & re-design new threshold of our own residen�al (condominium) to accomodate strangers (neighbors / delivery man) & owners needs & behaviours. The new outside threshold design gives more sepera�on and privacy between the 2 units. Meanwhile, entry way is created inside the unit in order to create a threshold & sepera�on to the living area, giving more privacy to the occupants.

Outside Threshold for each unit was not clear, looks messy (not enough storage space), individual unit space was too small.

Wood panels work as divider between the entryway & living room, create more privacy

Inside Threshold Final Design Entryway was created with shoe rack and storage space with individual sea�ng for �e & un�e shoes. Long mirror beside the door to fulfill individual’s behaviour of checking their appearance before leaving. 100 mm riser to differen�ate the entryway with the living space.

Outside Threshold Final Design Extended outdoor space for outdoor sea�ng (for guest/ delivery man) & more storage space for each unit. Wood panel divider as threshold mark between 2 units.

ADAPTING STRUCTURE THE BANKSIA Located in The Stamford Art Centre , The Banksia is a space designed for Ding Yi Music Company, a tradi�onal chinese music ensemble in Singapore. The form is inspired by the structure of banksia seed pod , a plant which commonly can be found in Australia, New Zealand , & Papua New Guinea. It was characterized by its seed pods which will opened when it was exposed to heat. The open pods in the structure will create a space for the ac�vi�es.

The most important part in the banksia plant is the open seed pod follicle. With the structural keywords: array, tapering, repe��on, & stacking.

Origami model inspired by the opened seed pod follicle. The form is translated into diamond shape .

DESIGN IS A VERB SPLIT & BEND “Design is a verb ” is a pavillion design project for Lasalle students based on the verb given “Split” and “Bend”.The pavillion is formed by the bending walls and spli�ng columns. It comprises of isola�on space and interac�on spaces. The pavillion can be used for studying, ea�ng, res�ng, and interac�ng .

Compila�on of year 1 digital works using photoshop, 3ds max , and vray. This project introduce edi�ng so�ware and hone my edi�ng skills. Consists of renderings for The Jasmine Bar, furniture renderings, Barcelona Pavillion, and Shigeru Paper House.
