The charge for maintaining an agreed electrical supply capacity to a consumer’s premises. The value of annual energy consumption related to a building’s floor area, which is compared to industry standards for specific types of buildings. A computer based system of remote control and monitoring of building services used for interactive energy management. This allows certain industries to be exempt from paying CCL on up to 80% of their gas/electric consumption. This is an additional tax on gas and electricity. Exemption can be achieved by purchasing green or renewable energy. This is a unit that provides the combined generation of electricity and heat. This is to cover the cost of data collection over telephone lines. This covers the maintenance of the local lines and transformers and is day/night based. This is a supply of gas which may be interrupted within specific limits at the discretion of the supply company allowing lower contract prices than a firm gas supply for larger users. kWh in period x 100 / MD x hours in a period. Maximum power measured in kW or kVA supplied to a customer by a distribution company and equal to twice the largest number of kWh or kVAh consumed during any half hour specified period. A method of energy management in which real energy consumption is recorded regularly and related to specific variables to allow comparison. The value of annual energy consumption related to a building or site characteristic; most commonly gigajoules or kilowatts per square meter of floor area under consideration. The ratio of kW/kVA in AC electrical circuits relating useful power to reactive power.

Appendix Renewables Obligation Settlement Fees Standing/Administration Charge TUOS Charges

Suppliers are obligated to purchase 10% of their electricity from a renewable source. This is a fixed monthly charge to cover the cost of the supplier’s billing system. A fixed monthly charge to cover the supplier’s administration costs. This covers the maintenance costs of the transmission lines, pylons etc and is capacity based.
