“Bio-diversity” Bio-Diversity - Adaptive skin facade An Idea is to Design a Breif and a Self Sufficent Campus at Melbourne in RMIT. By Going throught the Research Process of City Urban context, With the Data Analysis, Australia is home to large numbers of species that occur nowhere else in the world. Over 80% of our plants and mammals, and 45% of our birds live only here. Its Important to consider The Bio-Diversity.Here I have Designed the Nest for the birds in the Urban Traffic, By Retrofitting The Human Shelters (Buildings) as Birds Nest. Using Existing Facade as a Design Parameter , Adding a Bio-Skin Which can Adapt Birds in a Critical Climates and It will lead to create more interraction with Human beigns. It’s also Respond to Diffrent Climate and generates power as facade panels are arranged According to climate analysis .

The Columns support the concept of trees in a FOREST, establishing SPACE and by their shades and shadows indicate the concept of TIME. The ACTIVITIES of the people are mirrored in the colors that the columns emanate. There are provisions for Energy harvesting (ambient energy into electrical energy) by materiality or via 3rd party service providers.

Project title : An Intelligent Urban Forest Statement: Could Plaza Sants Estacio, A Public space that serves the neighborhoods as well as the commuters, become an effective city center that creates opportunities for programmed and random activities and make the time spent in it more meaningful?

Design Objectives: 1. What would happen if we designed for people thus eradicating vehicles from the space? 2. How do we re-define public space that is both utilitarian and communitarian at the same time? 3. Can time which is often viewed as a scarce commodity in urban settings be more meaningful for the individual or the community? 4. How can architecture adequately respond by technological developments in the design of public spaces?

Site : Plaza Sants Estacio- Barcelona

Function of Columns 1. Indicate the concept of Time through shades and shadows 2. Harvest energy through the finishes 3. Generate light and energy

Process of Research and Design Development: Here are the studies made to support Analysis and the proposed design on the plaza. 5 Mapping of the Plaza Sants Estacio 1. People Flow and Rush 2. People with Luggage 3. People with Mobile Phones 4. Colors 5. Sounds 5 Drawing Machines and the Source of Energy 1. Human Energy - walking 2. Wind Energy - Seaside 3. Mechanical Energy – Metro 4. Stored-up energy – mechanical arm 5. Stored –up energy – 3 pens & a ball using an ultrasonic sensor

The basic triangular shape poses unique qualities in structural design. A triangle is the simplest geometrc figure that will not change shape when the lengths of the sides are fixed. The triangle does not easily deform and is able to balance the stretching and compressive forces of a structure making it a strong self supportive shape. Combined with tessalation techniques, we evolved the triangle into its pyramidal form for our facade to create a strategical method of light diffusion and deflection. Our facade aims to deflect direct sunlight when it is the strongest and allow and diffuse sunlight when it is softer. Strategicaly arranged pyramidal forms are arrayed in a repititional pattern so that one or two sides are wood and the remaining side(s) is polycarbonate combined with a unique fastening system which require embedding pins into the polycarbonate’s form.

Task is to Deisgn A Facade with Material : Wood Technique : Tessellation Percentage : 45% Translucent Material : Polycarbonate Percentage : 55%

Wind Stumulation Analysis of the Site It is 40 Acres of land .Set with the earthy contours of Kottayam, rises a city UPTO 23 M. A city that holds futuristic ideologies and takes the visitor to a new level of thinking. Being a site with steep contour, accessibility was the challenge. And the solution came up through something that Kerala is well-known for – Rain – Water

Fluid dynamics is explored to arrive at the direction of pedestrian movement. At each level, this methodology was used to decide on the appropriate direction of progress. Human psychology finds it easier to descend a slope than to climb. And thus, direction of movement is kept predominantly down, also dictated by water flow, until the mid of the journey. At reaching the lowest point intended, an elevator takes them to the highest point of the building. From where they alight back near the entry- again climbing down, but actually moving over the building.

PLANETARIUM

BLOCK

The planetarium forms an element of surprise. A symbolism of futuristic building typology and exploration. Shaped like an alien spacecraft, the planetarium advertises that the visitor is awaiting an out of the world experience. But despite its alienlike shape, it is made sure that the building does not stand negative to its surrounding. Camouflaging has happened despite the structure’s massive voluminous.
