HISTORY IN A BOTTLE Back in 1910, Franz Wimmer established his cordial factory in Cooroy. Over 100 years later, Wimmers is the oldest locally operated business in Cooroy.

CULTURAL TRAIL Cooroy is bursting at the seams with culture and heritage. Almost every nook is infused with artistic flair or a rich piece of history. Host to a variety of events and attractions it’s easy to be swept up in a whirlwind of stories, art, music and talented artisans. The Butter Factory Arts Centre in Maple Street, dates back to the early 1900’s it regularly hosts special art exhibitions to delight the senses and workshops for those after a more hands-on approach. The Lower Mill site provides an insight to the town’s timber origins and is part of an extensive development, including the hinterland library and the renovated, heritage listed boiler and kilns which even include a resident ghost to regale you with tales from the timber milling days – more details can be found at www.lowermillsite.com.au. However, to truly get an insight into this unique township the Cooroy Heritage Walk is a must! NATURE Prepare to be captivated by Cooroy’s breathtaking natural scenery. Take a scenic drive along country lanes that offer panoramic views of the hinterland. Or experience the scenery and wildlife by taking a hike, or riding a horse or mountain bike on one of the Noosa Trails. Picturesque Lake Macdonald and the Noosa Botanical Gardens are just four kilometres from the centre of Cooroy and the perfect setting for a picnic or leisurely stroll. The lake is home to a myriad of bird life as well as a great spot for fishing, bird watching and canoeing. A little further afield is the lookout at Mount Tinbeerwah which is an easy walk or climb Cooroora Mountain at Pomona which is a more difficult climb.
WALK ON THE WILD SIDE! Cooroy is home to five of the Noosa Bird Trails and four of the Noosa Trails which are for hiking, BMX and horse riding. A precious home to a variety of native wildlife.
