The Kiwanis Club of Wilmington honored Nicole Capello as Paramedic of the Yearduring theirannual awards and public service appreciation dinneron March 22, 2023, at the Hotel DuPont in the City of Wilmington. Paramedic Nicole M. Capello was recognized forherdedication throughout 2022 with clinical competency, nearly a hundred hours of training, being selected as one of the inaugural members of the NCC*EMS Technical Rescue Team, service as a memberof the EMS Bike Team, and a true informal leaderamongst herpeers. In the hours preceding the event, Paramedic Capello was alerted via the PulsePoint app that a cardiac arrest was occurring in herneighborhood. She responded to assist herneighborin bare feet and performed CPR until the arriving on-duty responders.
