Long Beach 2-Alarmer
Early on February 19, 2023, the Long Beach Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire on West Penn Street between Edwards and National Boulevards. When firefighters arrived they were met with heavy smoke and fire showing from a two-story private dwelling. This was quickly followed by the transmission of a second alarm, which brought additional resources into the scene. Firefighters went on to put five handlines into operation and the scene was placed undercontrol within 40 minutes. All occupants made it safely out of the residence; however, one sustained non-lifethreatening injuries along with a Long Beach police officer. The cause of the fire was underinvestigation and all fire department units were underthe command of Long Beach Chief of Department Kemins. - Fire News photos by K2MPhotography.com
