Rescue Challenge 2023

Crews from numerous technical rescue teams traveled to Northern Virginia recently, to perform intense rescue scenarios as a part of Rescue Challenge 2023. This event is held annually, rotating around the Commonwealth and allows these highly skilled professionals to work with others teams from across the state. These scenarios require a high level of strategic and tactical coordination. This event truly tests crews’capabilities and allows them to betterserve their community through obtaining valuable experience in unique and stressful situations.

Portsmouth and Suffolk Fire technical rescue teams completed scenarios in confined space rescues. Regionalism has been critical in large incidents, and continuing ourgreat partnerships remains a priority.
