I
n the lead up to the launch of the 2015 Hottest 100, triple j is proud to announce a new partnership with AIME. AIME is a fantastic mentoring program proven to support Indigenous kids through high school and into university, training and employment at the same rate as every Australian child – effectively closing the gap in educational outcomes. Last year 93% of AIME’s Year 12 kids completed school, exceeding Australia’s nonIndigenous rate of 87% and the national Indigenous rate of 59%. Want to be a part of closing the gap between Indigenous and nonIndigenous students? You’ll have the option to make a donation after voting in the Hottest 100. You can also raise money through a gold coin donation at your Hottest 100 party. Plus you can Donate to AIME anytime throughout the Hottest 100 voting period. Your donation will help AIME reach 10,000 Indigenous kids by 2018. Jack Manning Bancroft, AIME founder and CEO, says of the program: “For over 10 years we’ve seen thousands of uni students walking with us to see Indigenous kids finish school at the same rate as every Australian kid. This generation is standing to lead us to a stronger future. To help supercharge this show, we welcome triple j listeners to the

AIME family. Every listener who donates some cash, rocks an AIME cap as a symbol of Indigenous success or signs up to be a mentor is supporting us to work with more kids. We hope they know this will change our country forever.” Meagan Loader, Acting triple j Manager, says of the partnership: “We’re excited to be able to use one of triple j’s most wide reaching platforms to give young Indigenous students a leg up, as well as give more people the chance to have
a meaningful connection with Indigenous Australia. We’re proud to be able to use the popularity of the Hottest 100 and the power of our audience for good.” Hottest 100 voting is open on Thursday 10 December, so start thinking about what songs you loved in 2015.
