All Star Classic Shorthorn Sale
page 1
2 0 2 0 A l l S ta r C l a s s welcome from first class Welcome to the 2020 edition of the All Star Classic Shorthorn Sale. We would like to thank the Alberta Shorthorn Association for once again working with us on this great event. 2020 has brought a few changes to the All Star Classic Sale, mainly being a change in sale date. The All Star Classic Sale over the years has renowned itself as being one of the top places in the country to source superior Shorthorn genetics, and this year is no exception. The offering for 2020, although a few less in quantity gives up absolutely nothing in quality. The consignors this year have dug extremely deep and are offering females right from the heart of their respective herds. There will be a large selection of powerful bred heifers, serviced with calving ease in mind. Buy these breds with confidence as they have been selected off the top of the consignor’s herds and are developed to go out and work for the new buyer. These heifers will lay down and have a calf next spring which will make your return on investment that much greater. Also on offer is a select number of open heifer calves. Many of these calves will have loads of potential to put a halter on and drag up and down the show road. Buying open calves also gives you the option to take home and breed to the bull that you see fit to better maximize your own vision, in your own herd. There will be a few pens of top end commercial breds and open replacements as well. These heifers are designed with the commercial cattlemen in mind and are influenced by some of the best Shorthorn genetics in the country so please bid and buy these heifers with the upmost of confidence. Please plan on joining us November 21 in Lacombe, AB. If for any reason you are unable to attend the sale do not hesitate to give anyone of the First Class team a call as we will all be very familiar with the offering and will be more than happy to assist you in purchasing your next Shorthorn female. DLMS will also be on site if internet bidding is what you prefer. I hope everyone has a great fall and I hope to see you all in Lacombe.

The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. First Class Cattle Marketing reserves the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Should the purchaser fail to settle for his purchase, First Class Cattle Marketing reserves full power to resell the animal to the best advantage, either publicly or privately, without further notice. Any loss arising from such resale, together with keep and all other expenses shall be payable by the defaulter. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released. EXCEPTION TO GUARANTEE In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void. In the cases of bulls, they are guaranteed to breed naturally according to applicable Canadian breed Association guarantee, but no guarantee is given that semen from any bull will freeze. First Class Cattle Marketing assumes no responsibility for the health status of any animal in the sale. ACCIDENTS Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the Sale Management, auctioneer, or Association assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property. RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and be equally binding to both. This fancy roan heifer just gets better and better. Pretty enough to be on a halter and broody enough to make you a mama cow, along with the pedigree and the style to raise you the good ones! Her young Pioneer sired dam is proving to be a profit maker in my herd already. page 6

This is a powerful heifer sired by Arbutus Mercury who has been among my top pics since she hit the ground. She was at the very top of the calf crop for wean weights. Hard to part with heifers like this one. I am confident she will impress you as much as she has impressed me.

Redhead bombshell! The first Guardian heifer to sell in Canada! Guardian females are proving to be an invaluable asset to our program. She is halter broke, junior approved and puppy dog quiet! adj weaning weight: 578 lbs. page 8

Her dam is a powerful coming 7 year old Stockman daughter who’s held a 354 day average calving interval through her career. In an overall assessment of her data we sure appreciate something special here. She nails growth performance yet scores high on calving ease, carcass ribeye area is high yet so is carcass fat, higher milk score and high stay ability is still there. No coincidence or toss of the dice here, it has taken years of work to lock those pieces in. 205 adj weaning weight: 615 lbs.

We are extremely happy with our half blood Shorthorn x Angus Cross heifer calves this year! So I asked Darnell if we could add a Blue to sell, he said sure! We are offering a real sweet feminine Blue Roan for someone to add to their herd. We think that the Shortie x Angus is awesome! Her Angus dam is one of our top producers. Dr Pepper added the Roan to the color. She will have DNA done by sale time and have a half blood registration paper. Quiet, curious and lots of thickness. Who wouldn’t want to add a Blue to their herd.
