According to Sanjay Khandare, the state health secretary, there are currently no H3N2 cases. He said, "We will increase our monitoring and perform genome sequencing in accordance with the Union government's instructions. However, doctors claim that there is proof of constant viral attacks at different outpatient clinics and hospitals, where patients are arriving with fevers caused by the flu as well as other viruses like adenoviruses and the respiratory syncytial virus. Poor data is a result of high costs; The reason for poor data are costs; while the first flu panel with the H1N1 test costs ` 8,000, the other panels (if the first panel is negative) could range from `1,500 to `20,000.
"Our statistics indicate that influenza A and H3N2 cases are on the rise across the nation," said Dr Nilesh Shah of Metropolis Laboratory. Every month, the facility runs hundreds of flu panel tests, and in January and February, the amount of H3N2 has been increasing. According to the union health ministry, H3N2 instances began to increase in the middle of December 2022 and may begin to decline in March, when the flu season will have ended in many regions of the nation.
In Mumbai, where flu cases typically start rising in June, doctors blame the “strange weather patterns” for high viral activity.
