Thank you dost, says Turkey as NDRF team returns

New Delhi (PTI): The NDRF’s mission in quake-hit Turkey was full of challenges emotional, professional and personal. They returned to India after the difficult mission, a part of their heart still thinking if “we could have saved more lives”, yet a part filled with the love and affection they received from the affected people.

“The locals did not know Hindi or English. What we saw was the language of hu - manity and respect for India. We wish we could have saved more lives…but what we received there was such love which cannot be earned easily,” Secondin-command-rank officer V N Parashar said. Parashar said he and others received WhatsApp messages from a number of people who wrote ‘thanks’ to them and got it translated to Hindi from Google before sending it to them.

GEN PANDE SAYS MOBILISATION OF FIELD HOSPITAL SHOWS RELIEF TEAM’S OPERATIONAL PREPAREDNESS

New Delhi (PTI): Army Chief Gen Manoj Pande said the force is proud of its medical team for rendering humanitarian assistance and disaster relief to quake-hit Turkiye, and asserted that the mobilisation of a field hospital in short time indicates the team’s excellent operational preparedness. He said this after interacting with members of the Indian Army’s medical team that has returned to the country after rendering extensive services to a large number of earthquake-hit people in Turkiye.

NDRF WAS FIRST AMONG INTERNATIONAL TEAMS TO REACH TURKEY, SAYS NDRF DG ATUL KARWAL

New Delhi (ANI): The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team is one of the international teams who reached the earthquake-hit Turkey first for relief and rescue under ‘Operation Dost’, NDRF DG Atul Karwal said on Tuesday. Karwal also said that “The first challenge was how soon we can mobilize our teams and reach Turkey as our aim was to reach there as soon as possible to save more people’s lives.”
