The police administration detained them, and the Thackeray group workers protested at the sight of the convoy. They also chanted slogans condemning Agriculture Minister Sattar and the Shinde government.
The ongoing conflict between Shiv Sena and Thackeray Group is intensifying with direct conflicts between the two groups. Wednesday’s incident has raised concerns on the safety of political leaders.
MLA Eknath Khadse has specifically targeted Jalgaon Guardian Minister Gulabrao Patil for his alleged disregard for the suffering of the farmers. Khadse has accused the Patil of failing to provide support to farmers in his district, despite their cries for help. The criticism comes as farmers in Jalgaon face financial difficulties due to the damage caused by unseasonal rain. Despite the impact on farmers, the government has not taken any definitive action to address compensation, causing worry and dissatisfaction among the affected com- munity. Moreover, ruling party members have allegedly disregarded the farmers’ situation, resulting in harsh criticism from opposition leaders. Khadse has also called out Agriculture Minister Abdul Sattar for not doing enough to help farmers affected by the unseasonal weather. Sattar reportedly inspected the damaged crops in the Nashik district during the night the constituency of the Guardian Minister, where significant damage had also occurred, was not paid attention to. Khadse has argued that Sattar should have at least taken the time to console and listen to the plight of affected farmers.
