Police seize smack, 29 kg cannabis in Jpr

First India Bureau Jaipur: In a major action against the drug smugglers in the city, Shastri Nagar police station incharge Dilip Singh has arrested three vicious drug smugglers. About 29 kg ganja was recovered from the smugglers. When the police interrogated the three smugglers, it came to light that Raju Rai, an international drug smuggler, had also come to Jaipur with them, and was in a hideout in the Bajaj Na- gar area. On getting the information, the police team raided the Bajaj Nagar area and arrested the international smuggler Raju Rai. In another action under “Operation Clean Sweep” Chomu police station arrested a drug smuggler. The police have arrested the accused who was selling ganja illegally. Police have recovered 2.10 grams of drug from the possession of the accused. As per the police, the accused Dinesh Kumar resident of Jaitpura has been arrested. The police are interrogating the arrested accused.

First India Bureau Jaipur: A case of molestation of minor girls by a teacher working in Govt Higher Secondary School in Bassi area has been reported. Angry relatives and villagers created a ruckus outside the school by beating up the accused teacher and vandalized his car. The people sat on a dharna outside the school demanding action against the teacher and stopped the teachers from going inside. Later, police and education department officials reached the spot and calmed the protesters.

Kota (PTI): Police have registered a case of rape and abetment of suicide against a 17-year-old NEET aspirant and his mother in connection with the alleged suicide of a girl, also a NEET aspirant, here.

The girl, 17, had jumped to death from the 10th floor of a multistorey building in the Landmark City area of the district Wednesday evening.

The father of the deceased girl reached Kota on Friday afternoon to collect the body after its postmortem.

He filed a complaint at Kunhari police station levelling charges of rape and abetment of suicide against the 17-year-old boy and his mother, police said.

The girl, before ending her life, had left a “goodbye” note to her parents and other family members, they said.

She had been living with her two brothers and a sister in the building and taking online coaching for the NEET. She did not attend any coaching institute physically, police said.

The accused boy, also preparing for the NEET, lived in the 4th floor of the same building with his mother, they said.

First India Bureau Jaipur: In an action against the gamblers in the city, 23 gamblers and speculators were arrested. The action was taken by the Sanjay Circle Police Station team under the direction of ADCP North Dharmendra Sagar. Besides the arrest of the gamblers, gambling devices were also seized by the police team. During the search operation at the gambling spot, betting equipment and cash worth over Rs 1 lakh was recovered from the gamblers. Alongside, ganja was also recovered from a young man.
