Barmer: In a sinister incident a couple, who had fled from Navsari in Gujarat, has strangled their newborn to death in Jalore and later buried him in nearby Barmer district. According to the information, a couple had fled from Navsari district on January 5. Woman’s family member had lodged a police complaint on January 8 accusing Moti Ram, a resident of Barmer district, for kidnapping their daughter. After lodging the case, Navsari police initiated investigation, in the meantime, the woman appeared before the police. Later during the medical examination, it came into light that she was pregnant and had delivered a baby. During the investigation, police nabbed the accused Moti Ram from his native village and while working at a salon shop, he fell in love with her, police said. While this woman got pregnant and fearing the family’s infamy, the woman forced him to flee. After which on Jan 5 they fled from Navsari and reached Sanchore in Jalore, police informed.

Jaipur: Rajasthan State Agriculture Industry Development Board President Rameshwar Dudi wrote a letter to CM Ashok Gehlot regarding OBC reservation and mentioned that there was a provision of 27% reservation in the states. He wrote that OBC population in the state was more than 50% of total population but OBCs had only 21% reservation which sometimes becomes less than 21%.

SC raps NGT for passing orders without hearing

New Delhi: The Apex Court on Tuesday reprimanded National Green Tribunal (NGT) for passing orders without hearing parties in the concerned cases. The Supreme Court questioned the working of NGT & said that the tribunal gave orders without hearing other parties. The matter relates to Rajasthan wherein a private company was found guilty and a hefty penalty was imposed on it. The concerned company later filed a appeal in SC. Jaipur: A couple serving life sentence in Sanganer open jail got relief from the Supreme Court as the court gave instructions to Rajasthan authority to consider the couple’s parole sympathetically in 2 weeks. Parole was sought to produce a child with IVF technique. Justice Suryakant and Justice JK Maheshwari’s bench instructed that both should be shifted to Udaipur’s open air jail. Jaipur: Hearing on a PIL challenging monthly pension to former MLAs was held in Raj HC on Tuesday. The Advocate General sought time in the case following which the division bench of Justice Ashok Kumar Gaur and Justice Ashutosh Kumar gave 3 weeks time for reply . Hearing on Milap Chandra Dandiya’s PIL will be held after 3 weeks. Referring to information obtained through RTI, the PIL says 508 former MLAs are being given pension and many of thm are also sitting MLAs. The PIL says that in the Article-195, there is no provision for pension to former MLAs.
