Commissionerate and Pali Police, nearly 400 policemen on Tuesday morning raided the premises of historysheeter Jhabbar Singh and his brother Bhanwar Singh in the Manihari area of Pali district.

Jhalawar: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday arrested a sarpanch in Jhalawar while accepting a bribe of Rs. 3 lakhs. Police informed that Rambabu Meghwal, sarpanch of gram panchayat Dev Nagar of Jhalawar district, demanded a bribe to pass the bills of the contracting firm. “The complainant stated that construction work was done in Dev Nagar gram panchayat by his firm. However, the sarpanch was demanding a bribe of 7% of total payment to pass the bills. The actual bribe amount was Rs. 3.22 lakh,” police said. “The complaint was verified and a trap was laid.
